What would it take for Gaze to get fired?
I mentioned those other commitments before but got hounded down...

Co hosting duties on bounce

Gaze did not have them firing in the latter part of the season - Randle did.

He won't get fired, ever. I said it early on and have been proven right with his results...
For what it's worth, his hiring really gave the Kings that huge profile boost initially and got the city talking about basketball again, but the longer they have stuck with him, the more negative the effect has been... Should have brought in a proper coach and had him in a GM role that was high profile with the media/public to have the same positive without the really strong negative...
As anon said above, he will just not be re-signed, he will just move on once they manage to bugger this season up and his contract isn't renewed... Hopefully JvG with him...

No let’s not. This is a thread about Gaze.

Gaze was better than Lamanis. Let’s focus on where the National coach has been finishing with a team he picked.

If they don't make a serious finals run and Bogut doesn't say "Actually, keep him, we'll win next year."

Gaze had the Kings firing for the last 2 months of last season... I think Bogut will provide leadership much the same way Damo does at Perth that the whole team buys into

Andrew bogut tell the kings to

The Wollongong NRE Hawks have signed exciting American Ayinde "Chewy" Ubaka for the remainder of the 2011/12 NBL Season.I think the Tigers dropping Ubaka might've been the only way Wollongong replaced Showron. Assuming Melbourne have to pay out his two-year deal, Wollongong could get him cheap for that period. Not completely sure on the numbers (sometime there is an adjusted minimum salary based on points value?) but this could really help the Hawks in the future by giving them an affordable starting PG and allowing them to bring in a decent second import or other free agent.
Ubaka arrived in Wollongong Sunday and will begin working out with his new team immediately, it is expected he will receive his clearance in time to take on his former team the Melbourne Tigers Friday night at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
