I already said to you I understand.
But even before the roster spots became thin months ago people were in awe of him strangely.

"I'm hoping this means that Hire will have an off-court role, be a training player, and injury replacement"
Why? Usually when players aren't good enough they leave the NBL. Why are so many including yourself so super concerned about setting him up with some off court role? I'm truly baffled by the fasciniation many on here have with this bench player.

I’m sure AD is referring to Devondrick Walker, the import that the Wildcats signed 1 year ago and got injured pre-season

I agree AD, but what I meant was so many seem to be on Hire's d*ck which baffles me.

I really don't understand the fascination everyone seems to have with this guy. He is past it, time to move on.

"Unable to find an online like atm."
You certainly won't find one from me, although I'm guessing that fans of the 7 other teams won't be complaining

@Mark
If the club saw no value in him why would they offer him a contract?

Whilst I'm sure theres plenty of critics out there - theres been a large turnover of players and I'm sure he would be the first to acknowledge he didn't have the best season last year... but it simply can't be a case of there is no one else good enough to be a recognised leader. He's been voted as a Vice-Captain by his peers for a number of seasons, his effort and hustle are always consistent and while he isn't a volume shooter he has been around that 37% - 40% percentage mark as a 3 point shooter. There's no doubt the calf injury was a setback, especially to reinjure it. He's a massive part of the culture, all this talk about Teys and White, speak to any of there team mates and they will vouch for the importance they play in the team, just look at Damo's IG post.

Love what he stands for on and off the court. Perth boy ect but it's a basketball team and you need to get as much as you can from each player on the roster.
For mine didn't show enough even when fit to get a roster spot. If they want him around the club give him an assistant job, think Perth arena has a few to spare to stick on the bench. Soon the bench will be wrapped around court side.

I think he's as done as much as the next guy. But if hes willing to take on that 10/11 spot on the roster and earn peanuts, its kind of worth it for the cats. He provides the continuance of that culture that has kept the cats competitive for 10+ years. Plus the leadership and demonstration of work ethic that can help shape a season for an incoming import or new signing.
