NBL Combine 2018
' A sport on the rise . ' on tv news ..... and we still get a 18 year old probable nba draft pick also...

I've seen some footage of the combines via social media. I didn't see
any imports participating. I'm sure there are lots of imports currently
playing in australia such as SEABL, ABA, QBL, VBA, State League that could possibly be a potential 3rd import for an NBL team. Based on some of the
imports from last nbl season who were very average, surely those in the country at the moment are worth looking at in one place.
Was the combines for Aussies ONLY?

Good camp from all reports and lots of positives. A lot of kids headed to college in the next 6-18 months.

"Observers listed Daniel Grida, Mason Bragg, Callum Dalton, Lewis Thomas, South Korean shooter Hyunjung Lee and Acouth among the more impressive players at the camp."

Won't punish the list as we'll see
- no chance longtime seal guys still trying to hold on to the dream
- big makeup of numbers will be CoE and NBA global academy
- young guys either still in college or heading to college
- a guy who is averaging 5 points and a couple of rebounds in big d1m

We want the list, we want the list!!!

Is there a list somewhere of the players in attendance?

Liam Thomas IMO isn’t NBL ready. He lacks the skill set and speed

Some great talent on show none the less. Really great to see so many young kids 17-18 year olds competing against the 21-26 year olds.
The game is in great shape in this country.

up coming season. Liam Thomas at the NBL combine be a good pickup for hawks?

Is it just extra training for Francisco Caffaro and Jonathan Tchatchoua who are already going to college. ESPN reports.
Caffaro going to virginia
Tchatchoua going to UNLV

I'm gonna ask this and Its legitimate, is there any advantage to having Tasmania and South East Melbourne announced as teams for next year and then getting a squad made up from these combine kids and adding retired players like Oscar Foreman, Anthony Petrie, Matt Knight types where they all play a year together in a lower comp so that a culture can be started before they rejoin the league... I'm asking as I'm fairly certain that that's what GWS and Gold Coast done in the AFL with horrible results but I'm sure they'd get a better reading on how good these players are than they would at a week long combine.
Also totally agree that combine is WAY too late in the off season, should happen a week to a fortnight after free agency starts to really be beneficial and then you'd get players that may not get a contract for next year like a Shaun Bruce perhaps coming to this and displaying his obvious talents

List of players?

Saw Acouth on the weekend and think he's worth a look. Great timing on his shot blocking. Still a lot of work to do offensively, but plenty of upside and should certainly earn a DP spot somewhere.

Nope, gaze has a full roster mate, so the Sydney “studs” that you speak of won’t cut the mustard anywhere. Don’t hype your boys, they simply not at the level.

look out for a few players from Sydney that will standout and surprise the 7 NBL coaches. Gaze have been sleeping on these players trying to find the next Singh to backup Bogut!

Young guys, please don’t buy into the hype! Stay in school, go to college. This combine is good for a DP spot only.

Anyone know the full list?

This years event will be massive! Great viewing of talent indeed.

Bit of a waste leaving it until now with so few local spots left on rosters.
Who made it onto a team from last year's combine it was only Amritpal Singh and then Indiana Faithfull as an injury replacement at the Hawks later in the season wasn't it?

DP’s at best. Plus some young kids before they go to college.

I know of 2 players already that applied to get a gig and were rejected. It appears to be a selective combine. I always thought it was a turn up and play.

What do you think, who will win the men's and the womens titles?
Who will be stand out players this year?
Will any of the players be put up into the NBL?
