The Legacy of Dwight Howard?
Outside of Lakers' desperation (and that bridge has probably been burnt anyway), it might be career over.

Now Washington have given up on him after one season trading him to Memphis who are immediately giving up on him by waiving him.
Career over?

I'm not sure if the Hornets are buying out Mozgov but the Hornets want to avoid paying the luxury tax next season which Howard's contract would've done and the Nets wanted to get out from the second year of Mozgov's deal so they have enough cap space to make a run at two max free agents in 2019. The Hornets also had them throw in a couple of future 2nd rounders and some cash too.

Well the Nets have given up on Howard in record time.

I think he will be in for a shock when he's not presented with a big money offer after July 6th.

It's easy to say he should never have left in hindsight, but at the time his team mates were Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, and a young JJ Reddick. That wasn't going to cut it against the top Western teams let alone LA.But if you're not competitive enough to be a cog in a contending team, just stay put, pretend you're superman and get paid. Then get moved on as teams decide they're entering a window, realise you're a poor piece, and want to give it a real crack. If you're going to move of your own volition to pursue a championship and some sort of legacy, then put in the effort.
In his peak statistical Magic season, he had Ryan Anderson, Arenas, Carter, Duhon, Gortat, Rashard Lewis, Nelson, Pietrus, Redick, J-RIch, Q-Rich, Turk and Jason Williams. 8 of those guys averaged double figures. A mish-mash for sure.
Woody, others have already said it, but you must be reading something far removed from everyone else about his last season. Apparently some teammates applauded audibly when the trade news came through.

I was a Magic Fan since I was young, Dwight Howard wrecked that for me.
He sucks lol.

Let’s be fair all reports out of Charlotte was he was a great team mate and everyone loved him. He had an absolute beast of a season. The best he has had since his Orlando days. Charlotte are going to rebuild through youth and the draft. I think Kemba, Batum will probably be fine also. Brooklyn will be s good fit for D12 he will be able to mentor Jarret Allen.

He felt he hit the ceiling there, fair call, but ended up perhaps not the right call.

should never have left Orlando, he's been irrelevant since the debacle in LA

There are just so many stories of teammates being frustrated with him that come out after he leaves each team. He doesn't seem to have the drive to push himself to improve or learn plays or go at 100%, and has too many crutches/excuses - apparently humour is a significant one.
Maybe it works (as said, with the Magic) when you're leading a team in the middle tier, but not when your franchise and teammates are trying to develop past making the finals, and actually troubling the contenders.
Read this the other day.

What's a realistic expectation of where the Boomers should get to in the Olympics?
I think it's realistic to expect the women to make the final, but the men have got me stumped. It seems like we could get anywhere from 5th down to 12th, kind of thing.
Anyone know our opposition well enough to give me some info?
