SEABL run for finals
Kilsyth weren’t good enough, it was a clear travel, you spent big on players to finish third, I understand why you’re upset.

If you attack the basket you get the calls, Nichols and Moller shoot the three but go at the basket relentlessly.
Re Moller, last season when at Ballarat they lost the final to Dandenong when was over seas, won both games against Dandenong while he available, he is very, very good defender which you don’t get stats for, even in the nbl last season he shut down some top quality three men, can guard anyone on court except for large five men.

Each to their own opinion. Stewart must be on something if he believes Moller should be the first signing for huskies. BTW 44% from two is poor return by any estimates particularly from a four man. Very good competitor and rebounder. High volume scorer.

Anthony steward in interview a few weeks back clearly stated Moller was the best player in the league by far and if he’d played for Melbourne tigers he would’ve won it easily, that he lost votes at times to Nichols and Muo. He also said if the huskies get there nbl liecence up he would be the first player signed, he won the rebound count averages more than 23 points a game and defends great as well as getting team to fend better. Two points were 45.6% and three 34.1 %. 80.8% from the stripe and three assists per game.
I think most coaches would be ecstatic with that.

The reason Moller was not MVP is that he is the second best player on his team. Nichols running the team 19, 20 plus point games shooting at 47% Moller very good player at this level but 40% shooting is poor particularly from your 6'9" 4 man. A couple of big shots certainly made up for his 8 of 24 fg Friday night. plenty of other examples of these types of nights during the season. Great rebounder solid defender but not the MVP of the league.

Some key areas where the Chargers got over the Supercats, of course, 'Moller Time' was important and that compounded the problem of Ma'alo Hicks not being able to back up with another big game which the Supercats really needed to get over the line in this one.
The foul count went very much one way and Moller was a huge beneficiary of that, the Supercats couldn't hit a 3 ball, Medved usually can nail a couple and get his team going but didn't even get the chance to throw one up.
The turnover count was tilted very much towards the Chargers pressure perhaps being too much for the Supercats on the night.
It is a bonus for two Tassie teams (men and women) making the SEABL final ahead of the push for an NBL team there, good luck to Tassie they could sweep it but it will be very tough in the finals against Nunawading and Bendigo.
Still very proud of the Supercats effort all season, men and women, looking towards next season!

Should move the game to Tasmania, Launceston and Hobert in GF, get 4000 at the DEC.

Nunawading should win and start favourites for the GF, tough experienced team, good outside and inside presence.
Hobart I believe are still the surprise packet, Stewart has done a great job getting this team to play as a team, the improvement in Nichols game from scorer only to passer, defender and scorer is a testament of his coaching. Think he would be reasonable value import to an nbl team. Moller playing the four and not his natural three has also allowed him to play the point forward with remarkable success, his handling skills for a big man are fantastic, shoots at a good clip and rebounds better than all. Hits big shots, as the commentators nearly jumped out the box when he drained that three with just on a minute to go to take the lead out to six followed up with a defensive board and two free throws and game over. The rest of the team do what’s needed for the team with muo playing better D and hitting the open shots when required.

That sums it up, slowish start but beast mode in 2nd half, very astute recruiting by chargers getting Moller and Nichols.

His migraine was caused by hearing all the SBL fans pumping up their league based on his acheivements in SEABL.

Some premature speculators out there!
Supercats at Venom in the men & Braves at Spectors for the women.
Have to hand it to Geelong, many gave up on them too early.

The chargers have been strong across the team but Moller has been huge against the miners and Supercats, if they could kerb his influence chargers are very beatable.

Chargers fans will be disappointed if they get beaten. Good test for the Huskies though.

Moller 28 and 11, monstered Kilsyth in third 1/4 when chargers trailed by 11. Chargers team chemistry looked good. Quality game.

Imagine the public uproar if the council at Geelong booked a monster truck rally at Kardinia Park when the Cats qualified for a home AFL final.

This is giving me flashbacks when playing down at the local recreation centre court and being kicked off for scheduled badminton...

I heard the Supercats men were kicked off the Arena at Geelong because the council booked it for some table tennis tournament or some such so they are playing a SEABL final at their domestic stadium is this what happened?

Mount Gambier out, very close competition and positions decided on count back for 1-3, 5-6 8-10. Nunawading in box seat with first place and most experienced side.

Cobras got half their side out in China with the kings, wouldn’t get to excited yet.

So with the Hobart men and women facing teams from Ulverstone and Launceston tonight was there any Huskies NBL promos going on?

Drmic started off hot then flatlined. Any idea what changed?
Nunawading guys spend too much time travelling the 3x3 circuit.

Home court advantage between 2nd and 3rd. Both sides would prefer home court.
Hobart have over achieved, Ballarat, Dandenong, Sandringham, Frankston probably under achievers.

Chargers chase down a 9 point deficit at 3/4 time to win by 6. Moller with 37 and 13.

Very tough competition this year and a very good standard in the men’s. Hobart still got Ballarat and Dandenong away next week, can’t see two wins there but should probably fall into the top four. It’s Kilsyth to lose, but probably any top four side could win it. Pioneers back in the eight, who knows what they could do.

Defence could be Hobarts down fall, if Moller misses a game they got no one to play quality D and organise the side and rebound.
I’m surprised how good they’ve gone, coach Stewart has done a good job. Don’t think there grand final material though.
There crowds have been exceptional which is good for their nbl bid.

I recall the Supercats men were on the charge for a big finals campaign last season before the worst injuries possible hit them and effectively killed off their aspirations close to the end.
While the women went on to claim All-SEABL championship status, the men had to regroup for a new season with some key changes. The women have also had to cover a huge loss with Blicsavs knee injury and new imports this season.
The men's group has had to adjust to some new players and by adjusting to some of these changes along with no injury worries and the return of senior players like Owusu does make them a team worthy of finals contention once again. Like any team, you will find it hard to compete at the top of the table if you have pieces missing at the wrong time of the year.

Has been a very good season so far, cats on a charge the last month, miners fading a bit. Kilsyth still in box seat and should be in first place at start of the finals, Nunawading in box seat for second, rest of the eight up for grabs.

Why is it that Kilsyth struggle so much against Geelong, they wouldn't want to meet them in a final?

Chargers women also handed out a master class to Rangers women, how Lavey and Madgen made an Opals list yet again leaves you scratching your head!?
Defence is certainly not a strong point in the Rangers team lol

1720 at Hobart v Dandenong last night, got to be happy with that. If they financially stack up they should be in the nbl sooner rather than later.
Chargers led by 25 with under four minutes to to play which allowed the bench time but starters had to finish the game as rangers came storming back.
Moller does a lot work you don’t get stats for and should’ve had a triple.
