2018 FIBA U17 World Cup for Men - Crocs
We will play Croatia who are getting a right royal hiding from Team USA

Tough loss. We now play loser of USA vs Serbia for chance to finish 5th.
Canada fight off feisty Crocs at U17 World Cup

I have a feeling Jackson will go down the afl path.
So far
Schueller 6/10
Wigness 6/10
Madden 6/10
Rantall 6/10
Buluk 6/10
Travers 8/10
Clarke 6/10
Capetola 7/10
Jackson 8/10
Bannan 6/10
Williamson 7/10
Green - not enough gametime
Jones - not enough gametime

1) Why didn't Schueller put Williamson back on in the 4th?
2) Wigness: As brilliant as he can be his high turnover rate cost the team a medal opportunity. He still has a few glaring weaknesses in his game but is allowed to free ball and get away with way too much
3) Agree with previous post, Wigness & Swaka Lo Buluk seriously underperformed given their current CoE scholarship standing. Jackson & Travers should be on alot of d1 college radars now if they weren't already pre-tournament

Why did schueller go away from the zone?
Nba academy players underperformed. Missed layups... about 10.
Travers and Jackson were awesome.
Really could have beaten Canada. Nothing special.

AUS-CAN is on Fox Sports 507 at the moment.
Wow, Fox finally buy rights to junior FIBA.

Yes. 1/4s
Puerto Rico vs Montenegro
France vs Turkey
Australia vs Canada
USA vs Croatia
Montenegro, France, Canada, USA the favourites.
If Australia win, we play USA in the semis.

had a terrible tournament so far. Scraped through every game.
Hard to see us beating Canada.
Nba academy players have been poor.
Jackson, travers and Williamson have done what they do best.
A lot of players seem pretty blazay.
Watkins at least put his foot down. Schueller seems pretty timid. A couple of claps for encouragement every few mins while he patrols the sideline.
Certainly can be a good defensive side but only a couple are showing it.
Capetola etc.

Crocs game not available tonight as sold to Foxtel by FIBA.
Anyone know another link
Cheers

Australia has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup for men after registering a 74-65 win over Mali in the Round of 16.
Luke Jackson led a balanced scoring attack with a big 15 point and 14 rebound double-double, Australia’s defence held firm against the bigger Mali front court, pulling away in the final minute to win by 9 points.
Crocs overcome Mali to advance to quarterfinals at FIBA U17 World Cup

For some reason Spalk has seemingly cut Travers final basket from The Pick and Roll video...you could always try the FIBA official tournament website.

Difficult run to the final now finishing in 2nd place in the group stage.
Mali then likely Canada(1/4s), USA(semis) and France in the final.
Finishing 1st, I think we would have had China, Montenegro, France, USA.

Haven't played very well so far.
Kanoute and ballo will be a handful.

Australia defeated the previously unbeaten Puerto Rico 68-66 to improve to a 2-1 record and advance to the Round of 16 at the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup for men in Argentina.
In a thrilling final minute, the Crocs broke a deadlock with 3.5 seconds to play, with Luke Travers scoring on a lay-up before Australia prevented a last gasp effort on goal by the Puerto Rican’s in the dying seconds to secure the win. It was the Australian’s third straight game which was decided by 2 points, with the Crocs finishing in a tie on top of the Group A standings with Puerto Rico and Turkey, with all three teams boasting a 2-1 record.
Luke Travers hits game-winner against Puerto Rico
According to official website standings and Round of 16 fixture, Australia is listed as in 2nd place at this point in time...that would mean a game against Mali by the looks of it...

Lose and we face Serbia in the round of 16.
wed probably be going home finishing out of the top 10.

This team always seem to go on a really good or bad run and if behind pull it out of the bag but still a worry.

Australia are zero as they won by 2 and then lost by 2 so they will be 0 not plus 2.so they would have to defeat Peru by 7 or more to finish top of pool.

This is constructive, I am in no way singling out any coach...here goes.
At the higher levels of junior basketball coaching, be it at National, International, College or State level I often tend to see two sides. This relates to leadership, character and courage.
1. Many coaches will coach with a fear of losing, they sometimes lack within themselves that confidence in their own capability or question others opinions of their judgement and maybe their credibility to a point where they don't make a courageous proactive decision (or decisions) that may risk their reputation. The system is set up this way and it isn't necessarily the coaches fault. Unfair expectations and repercussions can be harsh and hard to deal with when ones future can be decided upon based on winning or losing over other accomplishments.
2. Some coaches will coach with the passion and drive to make the courageous calls and decisions based on faith & confidence in their players (and the way they have been prepared) according to situations and circumstances. No matter the result or opinion of others afterwards, they are confident in their own credibility and do not fear any subjective judgements based on results. They may be lucky enough to have the knowledge that no matter the result, what they are achieving is understood and accepted without being concerned of the consequence.
Just an observation, nothing more, not saying it has happened here either just saying that you are either positive and proactive of negative and reactive according to your mindset and circumstances.
Coaching is a tough job and these guys, like so many others, are doing the best they can. This isn't just about basketball, it is the same for all sports and at the higher levels it becomes more and more about what is going on above the shoulders!
They players are the ones who will know if a coach is confident in themselves and the ability of their players because that is a characteristic impossible to hide and they will likely feed off it accordingly...

Turkey has come from behind to defeat the Australian Crocs 81-79 at the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup for men in Argentina to collect their first win of the tournament.
Australia led by as many as 14 points in the third period before Turkey strangled the Crocs in the final quarter to come away with a narrow 2 point win. Turnovers hurt the Crocs down the stretch, committing 24 for the game as their opponents took full advantage scoring 23 points from those chances.
Turkey comes from behind to defeat Crocs

terrible coaching...
Farsical.

Pretty sucky defense by an Aussie team.

Make sure you tune into the game vs Turkey at 4:30am AEST Monday morning on The Pick and Roll Facebook page. Should be a good one!

I'm loving the game day horn / buzzer - multi toned I thought it was a car in the car park rolling up.

Great job LC, you guys at Pick 'n Roll are always onto it when so many mainstream and other forms of media are just not interested, appreciated!

Australia were forced to reel in a 16 point third quarter deficit, going on a 15-0 run to open the final quarter as part of a 18-o run overall, to take the lead in the final quarter before holding on in a frantic finish.
Crocs survive nail-biter against Dominican Republic

Should have never have been that close.
Justin's fault in the first half.

Wow...
Terrible defense. Non existent.

Win over Puerto Rico and Dominican but a loss to turkey me thinks.
Reckon starting 5 will be
Wigness
Buluk
Travers
Jackson
Williamson
Madden
Clarke
Capetola
Bannan
Green
Rantall
Jones
