Torrey Craig signs two-year, $4m deal with Nuggets

Fearne was looking for a diamond at the beach.
He picked up a stone but it wasn't a diamond so he threw it away.
He picked up another stone , not a diamond and threw it away.
This went on few a few months.
Then he picked up a diamond and threw it away .
He'd gotten used to throwing it away.

Yeah from memory he struggled with consistency early on, sometimes seeming lost and other times like a world beater. He's probably the perfect example of someone with all the raw talent but needed more work to take the next step. Clearly he's done that and is now reaping the benefits. Well done to him.

Fearne was too rigid. I'd hate playing under him. The micro manager type of boss. Ewww.

The Fearne-Craig debate never goes away. There’s fuel enough for it to run a while yet, at least. Here’s one up-close take on it.
Craig came back for season 2, directly after winning MVP in the NZ League. He was plain painful at training on a bunch of occasions. Not unpleasant, not resentful or unsocial: just space junk for thought processes.
Fearne would describe a play (yes, one of his zillions), the run-through would start, and almost immediately Fearne would start muttering and moaning to himself, getting more audible till he would make his peculiar ‘toot’ to interrupt the drill.
And it would be Craig so often that he would address, usually quietly, confidentially even, but sometimes for the whole team to hear. Mostly Craig was far from clueless about what was supposed to be happening but he’d put his own tweak to it, and so when Fearne would ask ‘Why? What did you see there, Torrey? What was happening that required you...?, etc., etc.’ the answers were generally incoherent, defensive of course (as is usually the case when someone is on the spot and blame is being allocated), and definitely not satisfactory to Fearne.
Only God and Coaches see everything, and Craig was definitely not seeing what Fearne could.
And so the whinge vs far-away stare-of detachment became the characteristic dynamic between Fearne and Craig for the balance of the season.
But, a very important but, Craig knew his pro role was to be doing whatever it was of those zillion things he was asked to do, magnificently. Even his agent told him that; that is why he was back with the Taipans for that second season. “To be a better student of The Game’, as Fearne has worded it.
Unquestionably, it did happen, but...

To be fair I barely noticed Craig at Taipans, didn't seem to do much except vs. 36ers as Camel 31 pointed out. Any game vs. 36ers he would perform highly. Guess it was matchup but can't believe on which Sixer?

Of the two , I thought Craig the better player against the 36ers.....
luckily for sixers fearne liked to give them half a game each ...

Fearne has a history of playing those who are playing well, not necessarily if the player is higher paid or a bigger name.

I don't know the history of Fearne vs Craig but was Craig not playing well at the time and Weigh hitting a nice patch?

I figured he had signed a new contract. Something always suspect how a guy on a two-way contract could live as he had been doing the past few weeks! (nice cars, clothes etc). Those two-way guys don't make THAT much.

Massive credit to him. He deserves everything he gets. Extremely hard working and
he never gave up.

One example, after the NBA season/his season just finished, he stayed around in Denver and was in the gym straight away (when most guys would be on vacation etc.).

You would hate to be the head coach of the Denver Nuggets?
