Jr NBA champs
Goes to show how strong Aus juniors are with non-composite teams doing so well.

I love the hyperbole from the NBA describing this event as a "world championship".
While the teams from the US maybe (possibly) representative of the best talent of their region, it is certainly not the case of Asia Pac.
Perhaps we should describe the grand final of the AFL as the "world series" or "world championship"?
Honestly the Americans can be so full of crap.

Heal, Marshall and McIntyre are probably shoe ins for next years u16 vic metro team.
Good potential.
Heal already showed that this year.

Latrentis - you were nearly correct. There are no crossovers until the final/third place games. Similar to Little League World Series format from baseball.

Highlights from international final.

It won't work like that in the future because all the other Asian nations and nz will miss out.
It'll be something like
3 Aussies, 3 Japanese, 2 Korean, 2 nz.

Europe girls
3 from Spain. (Carolina Molina, Carlotta Lahoz, Berta Oliveras)
2 from Lithuania. (Judge Jocyte, Nia Pliatkus)
1 from Serbia. (Jovana Spasovski)
1 from Latvia. (Raina Tomasicka)
1 from Italy. (Laura de Stefano)
1 from Finland. (Julianna Haddad)
1 from England. (Tina Fakunle)

that's a pretty good effort considering Europe included Russia - would be interested to know how the European team was selected - i.e. tournaments ? applications ? camps ? about 10 times the population factor to select from.

International final...

Aussie girls lost in the final this morning 42-45.

Girls beat canada.

Still games to go before crossover.

so Bulleen lost by 1 to Europe - are they now playing for placings / consolation games ? Will they not get to play USA teams - only the winner of the international pool ?
Would be great if they played some of the USA teams.....

Boys day 2
Win v South America 64-39
Loss v Europe 46-58
Girls day 2
Loss v Europe 49-50

I think footage of the 13yr old girl (name Ashlyn Watkins) dunk can be found at link below (via Bleacher Report)

(Hope it works)

A 6'2 13 y.o USA girl dunking it atm on legit height rings.
Pretty crazy what these young kids can do.
Some of These USA teams would be comparable to our u16 ajc teams.

A shame the Aussie teams don't get to play the U.S teams come finals as would be great to see how we sit talent wise. Still a great experience for the kids though.

from what very little I have seen so far looks very similarly presented as AAU nationals as an event. But international.

Stupid... should be on espn so the rest of the world can watch.

it's on FS1 - Fox Sports 1 - the American network

and Europe includes Russia - so that's going to be some team. Would like to know the criteria.

it's on live now but looks like you need an american TV provider

u.s teams are so much more advanced at this age.

1 team for the whole of Europe doesn't seem right.

It's Aus clubs vs. other nations otherwise the results would be even more lobsided.

If it was best of Asia pacific, we'd only get maybe 4-6 girls and boys going.
The rest would be nz and other Asian nations.

The Americans are regional teams like us and Canada. The other internationals are prospects.

Eltham v India 80-43
Bulleen v India 57-11
Bulleen v South America 58-16

The 36ers are paying $3.25 to win in Cairns, want to stay off the bottom of the ladder and Cairns look like they will be missing their two starting bigs. Hawks are paying $2+ to win in Sydney and it sounds like Khazzouh could be rested - not sure if that'd be worth a go.
