NBL Blitz?
Anon 943
Who is this cockwomble?
Did he go to Wimbledon Common College
Or...
Was he overground, underground, wombling free

Hey, UsTaHoop,
re: Or am I reading too much into a Hoops thread?
Just stick to Orwell & Huxley.
I recently read Neil Tyson-de Grasse's "Astrophysics for people in a hurry". Makes more sense than some of the theories found here (and believe me, I am no scientist!).

Excellent points you make actually. There is a split forming with a huge chasm in the middle of it.

Is deplatforming or de-platforming a thing?
Do we now ignore media outlets that don’t conform to our own biases?
If yes, we now live in a world which we can solely view through the lens of confirmation bias.
George Orwell and Aldous Huxley feared that the future would be one in which a dominant power would enslave a population through control of a central message or ideology. Are they now wrong in that we now have a plurality of views but right in that each person becomes further indoctrinated by their own biased views filtering the information that gets to them?
Or am I reading too much into a Hoops thread?

Joined NBL TV again and everything is spot on (so far) Twitter is a massive fail NBL.

Yes I thought there must have been an error with Lewis Thomas training with the 6'ers.

Deplatforming them conservatives....like who?

"Twiiter CEO got roasted by US Congress for bias against the right wing and rightfully so."
Yeah, and I don't love Twitter for deplatforming them conservatives. But should that stop you from watching a bloody game of basketball? What about Facebook and its data sharing? What about YouTube doing basically the same thing? A lot of you guys just reek of disgruntled small market team fans having a cry because the league isn't all about you anymore.

Lol... always finding something to fracking whinge about, Jesus...
My only concern is the watchability of the games... Not up on the technology enough to know if you can go back to the start of a live stream to watch from there if you miss the start, etc, but if the tech is solid and you don't need to log in, shouldn't be a problem, should it?

FYI - blitz was NOT streamed last year. And possibly the year before.
I believe the last year the Blotz was streamed was when James Ennis was here

The BLITZ has been streamed for around 10 years or so now. Again the NBL pumping something that isn't inventive, the broadcast via Twitter is the new thing.

Love the nbl and the live stream, but I will never pay for anything where Murdoch gets any money out of it. Great to see it on Twitter.

Great, so now alt-right types can't watch NBL on Twitter due to bias which means Labor voters can't watch NBL on Foxtel due to Murdoch's world views. So the league only needs to sign a broadcast deal with enough media platforms to cover all the political ideologys out there according to some. Righty-o then.

Sorry they say against the "conservatives" rather than right or left. Anyway he got exposed for bias in Congress. These social media platforms are a joke and doing the same things as old media.

Bias against the right wing? What? Jack has been an alt-right poster boy for a long time now.

Twiiter CEO got roasted by US Congress for bias against the right wing and rightfully so.

If you're just going to refuse to go to the site it's available on, I find it difficult to see how that's the NBL's fault.

You don't have to have Twitter, you just have to go to the NBL's Twitter page. No login required.

yes

"However streaming on social channels is great for exposure, but diffcult to translate into a tangible RoI."
Twitter will have viewer stats.

They signed a sponsor for the Blitz, maybe a condition of them signing up was this deal with Twitter. Exposure would be the main thing they are after though obviously.

After not being able to watch last year's blitz in Gippsland, this is a step up and in the right direction.
However streaming on social channels is great for exposure, but diffcult to translate into a tangible RoI.

Nbl on Twitter is massive

I suggest get out from under the rock you have been living under because it's been announced weeks ago that the blitz will be on NBL TV, so fork out $5 then you can watch it.
