Adelaide 36ers vs Utah Jazz
What is the source for this $80,000 figure that keeps getting thrown about? It apparently doesnt even include flights...

Gotta say the Advertiser's coverage over the past couple of days (all week in fact) has been excellent, with a reporter over there covering the game. Their feature on Joe Ingles and the one today about the lead-up to the game were brilliant.

" though the biggest difference was the 8 whole extra minutes they expected professional basketballers to have to play without getting tired."
I sense sarcasm here but 8 minutes is not 8 minutes, it equates to half an hour if you hadn't noticed.
"Lots of people, particularly young ballers with genuine potential in this state, care about that DP spot.
I personally have no axe to grind so you are way off there, don't know the kid or have a horse in that race. Just amazed he continues to get these opportunities with his skill set and game. Makes no sense to an educated outsider."
Same. I have nothing against the kid, but he has been a development player since forever and has never shown even an inkling of ever becoming a rotation player. Might be time to cut the thread and pick up a kid with a future in the game.

I though the biggest difference was the 8 whole extra minutes they expected professional basketballers to have to play without getting tired.

Who cares who is travelling as 12th man. Only someone with an axe to grind.
Of all the games, the NBL put up a pretty good showing given how much bigger stronger and longer NBA teams are. I have watched both leagues for years, but until you see them face each other the special physical attributes needed to make an NBA squad are not so obvious.
Sobey looked comfortable on an NBA court that first half. He did nothing wrong with his stocks, but might have just missed his opportunities along the way. The biggest difference is the absolutely mammoth drop off between the 10th best player on an NBA squad and the tenth best and the sixth best on an NBL squad.

Larkins has been with the squad for five years now. He’s rubbish at Premier League level but wears his 6ers shorts underneath his Centrals ones for some reason. When are you expecting him to show anything at NBL level?

I’ve always supported a return to 48 minutes but after these games I’m not so sure. The game did seem to extend out a long time, and in the NBL that time will just go to benchies.

Its not going to happen in the NBL. No FTA station is going to commit a three and a half hour time slot to basketball.

I really miss the 48 minute games actually. Have never felt right watching 40 minutes.

Based on what?

Adelaide lost their legs in the last quarter and considering their only used to 40 minute games it is understandable. But it was a very competitive game for the majority of it and I certainly don't have any shame about how they played, just sucked that they had to reach so deep into the bench at the end and have Frolling kind of flounder his way around out there.

Enjoyed watching this game. Well done to the 36ers lads.

Boti is so out of touch it's not even funny. His hot takes on anything related to the NBA are worth as much as my grandpa's and he died a decade ago.

Wow, Boti actually tried to lump the Nuggets in with the Suns as being easier as they were non-playoff teams....completely disingenuous assessment.

Nuggets were only like the 3rd team in nba history to miss the playoffs with their record last year, they are highly fancied as making it this year.

The Clippers and the Suns aren’t playoff teams either.

The Jazz are a much better defensive team without Gobert. That said, he only played 15 minutes against Perth.

36ers far from embarrassing today from the portions I saw. About a gazillion times better than Perth went against the same opponent.

Jazz are hardly the same defensive team without Gobert, but let's not let facts get in the way of a perth dig

“Putting up 99 points on a great defensive team like the Jazz is a great achievement ”
Not while giving up 130...

This Sixers team is going to be right there again at the pointy end I suspect, 8 point game at 3QT.
Putting up 99 points on a great defensive team like the Jazz is a great achievement and at least we didn't disgrace ourselves like Perth.
Would've loved to see how this 36ers team would go against a non-playoff team from the NBA!

All in all a pretty good effort that followed the script of a lot of these games by blowing out after the half. Sobey will have put his name on a few lists to watch one would think.

Shame the way it's ended. Bench is going to be a big big problem for Adelaide this year.

Grayson Allen looks a good pick up. I will watch his game with interest once the real stuff starts.

The Jazz learning why we at Adelaide dont mind being the most hated team in the league haha
nah, that's Perth.

Down by 12 at halftime but feels closer than that. Adelaide's depth is going to be exposed this year.

Jazz doing their best perth impression shooting tonight, rubio returned to the norm, no step backs falling tonight!

Decided to chuck $5 on Adelaide when they were at $41, making this game very interesting for me..

All credit to adelaide they are playing very well. But the jazz are a different team without gobert, its disappointing we cant see them play a full strength jazz squad

Biggest leads by @NBL teams over @NBA teams:
8 - @Adelaide36ers over @utahjazz TODAY
5- United over OKC
3 - United over 76ers
3 - NZ Breakers over PHX
2 - Perth over Denver
2 - United over Toronto
#ADEatUTA #NBLxNBA
- @NBLfacts

since when are 36ers more hated than Perth? or Melbourne? or Sydney? ok maybe not Sydney they are more laughed at than hated.

Did my eyes deceive me but did someone pay Larkins to fly to the US.??

The Jazz learning why we at Adelaide dont mind being the most hated team in the league haha
attack the paint!

Favours with 3 fouls
Almost like the sixers attack the rim and draw fouls without favoritism from refs...

It's all good JP, I am enjoying the fact I am watching the 36ers play a solid NBA team live on free to air.

Nah don't talk shit we are in for a smacking as well no doubt. Just enjoy the experience.

Rudy Gobert and Exum not playing
