Brian and KD would be sweet though

No????? That's a joke right?

Heard the slammers have signed their 2nd import (men's). Any ideas on who it is or if they have played in the league before?

While we are on the subject, let's rank the coaches. Interestingly there will only be one rookie coach in 2019 - Petrik - though his WSBL and WNBL experience almost counters the argument that he's a rookie.
Of the other 13 coaches, we will see 8 coaches staying put, and 5 coaches making comebacks in a head coaching capacity (Forde, Joseph, Creek. Utley. Triscari).
1. Parsons
Seems to win wherever he goes.
2. Ettridge
Despite what some may think of him, takes teams to grand finals.
3. Ellis
Underachieving
4. Black
Underachieving ver2
5. Lackovic
Underachieving ver3
6. Nener
Overachieving
7. Petrik
Has a championship-level team at his disposal so has everything to lose.
8. Utley
Veteran coach should shake things up at the Suns.
9. Creek
Has nothing to lose - the only way is up for the Giants.
10. Daniels
Will have a very young team in 2019 which will be challenging.
11. Forde
Needs Wildcats players if he wants to make playoffs. And will probably get them.
12. Trahair
Never really rated him as a coach.
13. Joseph
Been out a while and could be handed a rebuilding team.
14. Triscari
Looks like a desperation appointment.

risk it to get the biscuit.
you are saying that I have no business nouse.
perhaps you may be a part of the reason that the $$$ has dried up.
no business nouse and no- vision .

a former coach maybe ? ha -ha . well that narrows it down doesn't it.
how many coaches have they had in the last 10 years.

Hmm, someone really has a beef with the Giants.
Going back to the start of this thread, there seems to be the same person posting about the Giants coaching/playing situation, and constantly being either critical or a prophet of doom.
Someone bitter it seems. A former coach maybe?

40k - maybe a little to much I guess. old saying you" gotta spend money to make money" however and don't be surprised if some other coaches in the S.B.l are getting close to that number.
old saying " you get what you pay for "
old saying " gotta risk it to get the biscuit "
same result for the giants LAST-
the 4ok coach would have bought excellent players and imports and great coaching ability , thus sparked the town and basketball community once again. 8800-1000 people back therefore $$$$
however it will be same old , same old , time to take the blindfolds off and get out of your bubble and into the real world.

wayne creek ! unbelievable decision by the giants. I Know that there was a very highly respected and "WINNING COACH " available from the eastern states willing to come .
creek has no experience in what is shaping up as another strong competition , he will be way out of his league.
easy prediction this one = " TRAIN WRECK "

Giants name Wayne Creek as coach
http://www.goldfieldsgiants.com/2018/11/27/creekcoach/
Interesting choice. Understand what the president says by seeking some stability in the role after so many changes over the past few years, but Creek comes in with a mixed reputation. Will be very interesting to see what/if any recruits he can pull.

Why is #717999 so hung-up on wanting to know Giants player signings?
Only 2 clubs have announced players who aren't imports. Relax champ.

we are still waiting on the goldfields giants to confirm signings and coach anti-KR ?

fingers crossed for the giants and they do make some announcments this week.
it seems as thought the competition is widening , those few teams down the bottom and have been down the bottom for a while know , are losing ground on the top teams each year.
lets hope the giants interstate signings are better than the ones they have got in recent years.

Slammers in discussions with Jules Pesava, would be big for the club

great signing by the hawks in tevin Jackson and nikita martin . both very good additions. farnworth and kate Anthony not returning next season.morgan ballyntne rumoured to be playing for perry lakes as well.

Slammers confirmed bringing back Voelkel

I'm so glad we could get back to this garbage and off the discussion of basketball.

If Roberts plays SBL he will play for whoever offers the most cash, if that's Wolves then so be it!!

Roberts def wont play for the walking ego

Rumour has it that the Wolves have offered to lease the whole Linx squad for the SBL season. Nix's only real chance. Womens side have more money to spend than the mens as Etto penalised $5.50 for his 3 peat failures.

The wolves haven't announced anything about Kayla Stendl. I think that's just speculation atm.

if ambar land has gone to the wolves correct me if im wrong here .
they have recruited thus far.
ambar land
Georgia denehey
kayla steindel
izzi motti
miklaya prini.
is this correct.
what are the other clubs doing recruiting wise ?

And have heard Jarrad Jackson playing for the Slammers next season? Any truth to this?

Durnin to Mandurah confirmed??

I'm a Wolfpack supporter but what's the point when we'll choke in yet another Grand Final. :/

From the CEO on twitter,
There’s a range of opinions in WA about @WolfpackSBL but one thing that can’t be denied is that we continually recruit - and support - really good people.

about 8-10 years ago know both Justin brown and adrain mastrovich were receiving $ 750 per game .Is it reasonable to believe a couple of players in the league are making that? Perhaps. Assuming arguendo that you have any more credibility than anyone else.
so I agree, people scoffing about this sort of money have no idea.
But it gets thrown out as a standard mid-range starter figure. I've seen team lists with salaries on here where both imports are earning $1500 a game. It's laughable.
Then there's the question of how many games these guys played. If they only played 2/3rds of the season, $750/game becomes an entirely unremarkable figure.

I'm curious as to whether the people who throw around numbers in these threads have any actual knowledge of what sort of money gets spent in the league. I'm guessing not, because the numbers I do see are so wildly inaccurate it's not funny.

Why we care now about one clubs payroll but we just ignore two other clubs doing it for god knows how many years seems a bit hypocritical to me.You must be new here.

misalienous
Surprisingly, Kevin White is averaging 18.45 mins a game for Illawarra atm!

If any of those clubs were actually paying the people you have listed - they would be breaching the salary cap
