That's why I was worried about Conti and magbegor going there.

I feel bad for the NZ N.T players.
More talent than they've had in years and they bring in Molloy.
Some quality nz coaches about, not sure why they chose guy.

Bunton 27 points at 76%, 7 boards & 3 assists and misses out on TOTW? What? How? Why?
I would have put Laney over Cole too. 16 points 12 boards 5 assists and 2 steals is an outstanding stat line.

If they can get some better crowds and boost the salary, we should be able to get some more high calibre players coming here over Europe.
More kiwis and Aussies from college filling and deepening teams every year.

TotW was Tobin over Bunton or Scherf but the others were right. Put money on Nurse for MVP if you can get good odds. Amazing having a player of her calibre here.

Podcast said she would be back sooner than expected.

Blicavs won’t be back this season if rumours are correct , hence why the American import Laney was brought in late

Garbin had a bad game.
Brassard needs to put more faith in aokuso. More minutes..

Jarry probably going to the bench when Blicavs gets back.

His assistants are better.

Another upset?
Only batgirl and Samuels showed up for Townsville it looks like.

I'm guessing that's why they have had such a rise in female cricket participation.
Heard one player is on 600k.

... and apart from the Cairns stint always with Melbourne clubs so not much uprooting/moving. Golden horseshoe?

How does he get hired over and over again?
He somehow has been employed as an assistant and then head coach for 20 years in NBL and WNBL.

Women Cricket Aussie payment pool is 55 million to state league, big bash and international players.

nz haven't looked that great under him either from the games I've seen.

State league women cricketers are on 44k.
Pretty crazy, not sure how they can afford it.

This is Melbourne`s year I think. I can feel it. Their motley crew of misfits and rejects will miraculously bond this season like the AFLs western bulldogs of 2016 and shock the world to win the title this season and vindicate the choice of molloy as coach.

Wow at those cricket salaries. Doubt they generate the income to earn those amounts.

anyone know the salaries these days?
From my understanding minimum wage is $7500 with no salary cap?
Lynx players get a minimum 40k a season?
Who might be the highest paid player?
Cricket now the has the highest salaries for women team sport. Supposably 200k per season if you are an international by 2020. Minimum is 40k and some players are on 300k now.

Molloy must have the record now for number of seasons being head coach of NBL/WNBL clubs with 0 titles.

Hard to fathom why they continue to recruit Molloy and they always do it at the start of the season not the end or after like every other coaching position is done
They have the potential to be a successful club , they certainly run the best home game days but they seriously need to move him on

Heh, it's good for the competition itself, perhaps not the other bottom dwellers. Long way to go yet. Still have to see how Dandy go against Townsville

Great start to the season by Bendigo. Proving us all wrong. Be a good season if they turn into a surprise packet throughout.

Whittle could be an opals darkhorse.
And hurst and Wilson must be spewing they didn't get a look in when Mitchell and Mansfield went down before the WC. Did a great job at managing the team.

Magbegor and George have been terrible.

Brisbane and Newcastle the next 2 in I believe.

LMAO at ‘G Cayla’ on the scoresheet

Yeah I'd like to think there's enough quality for at least one new team, should be two. 1-2 fringe players getting a solid starting position can only help development.
Favourites for the spoon outrunning favourites for the title at the moment. Dat disparity

And they just signed Molloy for another 2 years lol.

The disparity between the top 3 and the bottom 3 should not be so vast in an 8 team competition.
The problem is that the WNBL can't really afford to employ any equalisation measures such as salary cap, because I think it would do more harm than good.
With brisbane team coming and only maybe 5 wnbl level college players coming back home. Hard to see where the players will come from.
We have very little quality youth replacing the veterans atm.
There seems to be plenty of player movement around the league each season (eg. Perth seems to turn over its entire roster each year!), so provided any new team is announced early enough (i.e. before the end of the season) I think there's enough time for a new team to assemble a competitive roster.

Same old Clydesdale...
attack dammit.

All the time in the world to recruit just 2 solid imports...

Loco, but not yet senile thankfully.
We go to the basketball game to?
Watch basketball, not get blown out by LOUD $&@&$&" music. What is it with these court announcers
Has been the same problem since day 1 of the new Lynx era, and yeah it bothers me too as it always has.
It's possible to pump up the crowd and provide atmosphere without hurting people's ears. I find it literally painful at times. It really detracts from the game IMO.

It didn't come off as sarcastic, Luuc but gland you're not going senile;)
Yes, their defence was shocking, gave up so many fast breaks.

Has been pretty clear all along that this team was too small, so no surprises there.
It's the D that disappointed me. Hopefully it's a chemistry thing that can improve, because there were holes left open everywhere all game.
Yeah can't look at quarter won as a metric for how close the game was.
2 people actually took that seriously? About an absolute smashing? Ok.

Adealide starting 5?
Seekamp, Nicholson, Blicavs, Coffey, Planeta
6'4 Alexander to take planetas spot when recovered.
Davidson needs to get more time also.

Adelaide just far too good. Coffey with another impressive debut for an import. McPhee was one of Perth's best too.
Lightning had too much cohesion and played like they've been together far more than Perth have. Shooters kept getting their shots (Coffey, Planeta, Nicholson) all over the court and even Seekamp looked good as a makeshift PG facilitating. They're easily making finals if they keep this up.
I understand that Stewart has a plan but the Perth roster construction is just full of ball handlers and high usage players. Today they mainly played with 3 guards, 2 forward lineups. I don't know how it's going to work, like why is Farnworth throwing up so many shots. Ebzery and Taylor looked very rusty. Hopefully things click. Mansfield-Ebzery-Mcaphee-Taylor-Standish is a good starting five when they can all get on the court. Schwagmeyer the perfect 6th, scoring option from the bench.

No legit bigs for Perth. Not sure what Stewart was thinking.
Some of the biggest lineups we've ever had in the wnbl and he has no one bar steindl and Allen in the post at only 6'2.

Perth are going to struggle this season with that line-up.
Seriously though, what it is with music at NBL and WNBL games?! Turn it off and down! Play some, but at the right time and NOT all the time.

Erm, Perth v Adelaide lol.
Farnworth, Ebzery, McPhee, Taylor, Steindl starting five for Perth.
Looks really undersized.
