Boomers squad vs Iran/Qatar
Best 3 point shooter in the league, and getting better.
I hope they don't take Wagstaff, he needs his rest.

Would creek even want to play? I don't see how a couple of games against average countries helps his NBA ambitions. Better off just staying with his G-league side.

Japan beat Iran 70-56 in the last window.
There is no doubt Iran in Iran will present a serious challenge, but I think the Boomers showed in the Asia Cup final when they can apply heat to Iran's guards it dries up supply to Ehadadi pretty effectively and I expect them to do that pretty well in Melbourne.

I'm worried about Lemanis vs. Iran. This is not a spud team. As above said a quality team and a far inferior Japan beat us and he acted all chilled out as if everything was all good, he better have learned from the experience.

Creek is in the training squad for the Long Island Nets G League team

From Paulo Kennedy on the NBL site:
Will we see a different style from Cairns this year?Even if Loughton stays? Or is this talk just to make Loughton feel a little expendable? Or perhaps they expect him to stay and still want the muscle backing Loughton and Tragardh up?
No, we’ll definitely continue to run the Shuffle, and when the opportunity presents to push the ball we’ll do that. The game’s just easier when you’ve got guys who can shoot the ball. Cam Gliddon and Clint can obviously shoot it, Tragardh runs that middle lane pretty well and Jamar can do what he does. We’re trying pretty hard to get Alex done as well, because when he’s on he’s pretty good as well.
So does that change what you are looking for from your second import?
Yeah, we will probably be looking for more of a big banger, a wide body who’s tough and physical. But I’ve got plenty of time to get that done.
Sounds like Aron Baynes, a North Queensland boy…
Yeah that type of player. Unfortunately we don’t have the coin to get Aron just yet, he has aspirations of really establishing himself in Europe and we obviously support that. But he’s a Cairns boy, so we’ll see what happens down the track.
