2018 FIBA Under-18 Asian Cup for women
U15 Oceania team up next in early December for qualification into next years u16 Asia.
Hopefully York looks at this tournament and brings in players with speed over traditional 5s and slow 4s next year.
Oceania u15 squad.
Guards are Deeble, Fakalata, Crawford, Swain, Bowyer, Robinson
Forwards are Price, Dunn, Dunlop, Goodchild, Prior
Centre is Evans

PAC 12

Oregon - Yaeger, Shelley(2019)
Oregon State - Simmons
Stanford - Smith
California - Anastasieska
Ucla - Horvat
Arizona - Manumaleuga(2019)
Washington - Rees
Colorado - Clarke
USC - Milisic
Only Utah and Arizona state without one.

Lots of Aussies to follow in PAC 12 this year and next few years.
Most teams will have at least one.

China beat Japan.

Bronze. Well done. Need to improve alot before next year.

Heal
Shelley
Goodchild
Nnopu
Bourne
Scanlon
Palmer
(Another guard)
Potter
Anstey
Hawea/Clarke/Simons/Motuga//Fowler/Other
Cochrane/Hannan/Other

The college they are going to fits them except for maybe Hannan.
Texas is a big school and they already have several quality posts and more, coming in.
2019 class was very short on post options for worldwide.

IMO none of them look fit for Div1, seriously!

Hannan-Texas
Goodchild-Duke
Shelley-Oregon
Clarke-Colorado
Simons-St Mary's
Motuga-Washington State
Bourne-Nebraska
Nnopu-?
Hawea-?
Palmer-?
Anstey-?
Scanlon-?

Running the same stuff.

Will only get better and better as they find bigger post players.
Only had 2 players at 6'1 this tournament and they were very good.
We were outrebounded, outhustled, outplayed, outcoached.
Next time we need to play Asia differently. You cannot bring players who can't play this uptempo style.
Half the team could not keep them in front. So many defensive breakdowns which resulted in open lanes.

Japan basketball on the up for a few years now.

Who would people choose if they had a new coach?

Couldn't get all 4 asia junior titles.

Although they qualified for the 2019 Under 19 World Cup by defeating New Zealand in a sudden death playoff the previous evening, there will be no Asian Championship gold medal for the Gems in 2018 after going down 90-77 to Japan in the semifinal.
Gems’ Asian title hopes crushed in semi-final loss to Japan

Having slow footed players like Simons, Motuga, Clarke, Hannan etc really hurst us in Asia.

If butler gets to keep going next year, you know that ba has no balls.

Japan doing what they normally do, shoot the ball well. And we saggin 1m off..

Changed zone again, not sure why.

Absolutely.
Scanlon as the backup to heal.
Shelley and goodchild should be playing sg.
Love nnopu. So much effort, never gives up.

They miss heal a bit from the under 17s. Someone with a steady head who makes the right decision on offence.

Why did it take a qtr and a half to play zone?
Up by 1 at the half.

Finally a zone

1 person rebounding lol, this is pathetic.

im ok with a loss if results in a change of coach.

Sweet baby Jesus. Open lanes galore.

Australia has qualified for the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup after defeating New Zealand 82-66 to advance to the semifinals of the FIBA Under-18 Asian Championships in Bengaluru, India.
Rebounding from the disappointment of losing to Korea by a solitary point in their last start, the Gems took control from the outset, leading from start to finish to book a date with Japan, but more importantly secure a berth at the Under-19 World Cup in Thailand next year.
Gems qualify for FIBA U19 World Cup at the expense of New Zealand

Haven't heard from those people that it would be an easy win for the Aussies this tournament.
Teams like Japan, china, Korea and nz are not easy beats like they once were.
India will also enter that group in the not too distant future.
Qualification to worlds will not be a guarantee anymore.

011. You're right but I wouldn't use big v as an example.
Will be another close game tonight.

874 you are Actually a moron
2018 Big V SCW Defensive Player of the Year
Nicole Zammit – Hume City
Erin Bollmann – Keilor
Rachael Quirk – Knox
Bridget Deery – McKinnon
Jaz Shelley – Southern Peninsula
Chelsea Burns – Sunbury

Japan will be tough, have beeezed through so far. Our size might help us or hinder us.

Lol you spoke too soon.

I prefer Shelley as PG over Heal, little more team first

Shelley is an alete defender, goodchild is very good too.
I'd say 874 has a pg for a daughter.
Shelley will like start at sg though with heal running the point.
The 3 guard lineup with Shelley, goodchild and Palmer is much better.

Sorry 874, can't believe anyone watching this game would bag Shelley for starters

824?

Anstey really struggles finishing.

824 you're a moron.

Alot of players playing out of there natural position.

Butler got no idea. Terrible subs..

Has it all been this bad?

When is their next game?

Sitting on the end of the bench for most of you're college career doesn't sound great to me behind a very highly touted post player to come in the same recruiting class.

Too funny, ad you Kow what about South Carolina?

Don't think South Carolina is the right option for her.

You'd think if the US women's coach was trying to recruit Cochrane to her college program she may just be good enough.
