Can we get a new TOPIC for NBL1 please?
Hobart Huskies have a 2 page colour spread on page 2 -3 today.

Is there a Media Guide available anywhere or access to team lists?
Couldn't find anything other than links to the club sites on the website.
The promotion of this new league is underwhelming to say the least.

Is there a Media Guide or anywhere we can view the Team Lists for NBL1?
The promotion of this so called elite league is underwhelming to say the least.

From the few games played on the weekend at a very underrepresented preseason hit out, I’d say Nunawadding both men and women will certainly be up the top, Nunawadding women made Dandenong look very ordinary , and neither team had anyone to come in, so unless Rangers have someone, else to join that line up, they will not be looking too great.
Both of these teams though played Waverley and won, Spectres though wiped the floor with Waverley who looked shell shocked that first half, though they were missing their best p,ayers, so hopefully they will be competitive in the season.
Geelong made easy work of Sandringham, but Sandringham only had 7 players, and they are not exactly stacked with talent, Geelongs weakness will be their guards .
Knox certainly stacking their roster with adding Sherf, but that doesn’t guarantee them anything
Diamond Valley, Kilsyth and Frankston couldn’t t put a team together , with less than two weeks out that’s a worrying sign if they have to rely on youth league players to fill roster spots and they already have multiple injuries.
Just hope the organisation is better than what’s been on show so far from this new NBL1 league when the season actually gets underway

wasn't Kenyon play afl

Couple of handy late signings for the Rangers with DKD and Kenyon. Have they announced any import signings?

Ropbertson will be leaving for Eastern Washington not long after the season starts, Leaupepe has yert to commit anywhere but he did just return from a visit to LMU.
Jois was looking to head back overseas to play last time I heard. That may have changed now though. A few NBL1 teams are chasing Jois' services.

Dandenong has signed Dexter Kernich-Drew but haven't heard anything else. Venky Jois is a former junior? Keli Leaupepe, Tyler Robertson etc. should be back although they may be leaving for college?

Hate to think how much Knox are spending on their women's team. I agree about the egos. Not sure how Scherf and Whittle will mesh.

In the women.
Geelong will be very good this year. Will be a little weak in the guard department once Shelley leaves for college.
Moneybags Knox will think they are a chance but with only 1 ball on the court and being full of egos will make finals but not the big dance.
Cole will not play enough games to win MVP with Opals and 3x3 commitments this season.
Frankston Wooden Spoon for me.

Predictions for the season ahead?
Men
Champions Kilsyth
Wooden Spoon Hobart
MVP Ray Turner (Bendigo)
Women
Champions Geelong
Wooden Spoon Ringwood
MVP Bec Cole (Dandenong)
Headline Travel costs force Tassie teams out of NBL1 2020.

I suspect Hobart are in trouble. Zac White as a returning import and that's all.
NO PG.

Frankston cashed up after losing stadium deal. Paying overs for players as nobody wants to go there. Only started training properly 2 weeks ago. Will be dropping back to Big V next year.

Any news from practice games over the weekend? I know there were a few games at Bendigo.

Majok has been touting him self to ever NBL1 club. No one wanted him except Franga so I would expect him to be cheap.

Has the Blues President won tattslotto or powerball. If not where’s all the cash come from for these signings. Wonder if the juniors fees have increased !!

Frankston Blues sign Majok Majok for NBL1 season!
Blues double up inside with Majok Majok added to NBL1 roster

Shereesha Richards re-signs with the Frankston Blues.
Shereesha Richards re-signs with the Powerade Frankston Blues for the 2019 NBL1 season
Despite all the administrative changes going on, looks like the Blues are slowly putting together some nice looking rosters for the season ahead.

List of achievements:
No new stadium
Lost funding for new stadium
Arguably the worst SEABL program in the last 7 years
Basketball Victoria investigation
Club governance raised in Victorian Parliament
and thats just for starters...

Having your 18.1’s drop to metro 4 is a huge achievement

^529 That is a classic press release. Perhaps the President could name just one achievement that both he and the former GM have accomplished during their time together. Surely the President walks away as well as at the end of the day as the great Tim Watson once said "the fish rots at the head".

Have to love their press release....must of been written by the former GM thanking himself for his achievements which is ZILCH!!!

Nice work Gnome Dancer .... forced the FDBA into a 6.00pm Friday night press release. Attended a junior game there Friday night and boy does the new CEO have his work cut out. Stadium is in desperate need of a make over, so run down.
Any news on why the Basketball Victoria investigation is still being kept under wraps?

New CEO of FDBA top secret announcement next week, what happened to the old one # save the stadium # we wont be bullied # paying too much rent # AGM # lost 15 million.
Good luck to the new CEO Wayne Holdsworth current CEO at the Mornington Yatch Club.
to be announced next week so not now just so you all know.

"Congratulations Cram the Tigers are back in the NBL... 1."
Thanks. Just bought my membership for the season.

Dave Anderson signed in France so no Blues for him.

Yep - Frankston have indeed signed Alistair Macdonald.
Alistair Macdonald returns to junior club for 2019
Confirmed Blues signings to date:
Lachlan Barker
Iggy Hadziomerovic
Damon Bozeman
Alistair Macdonald
Dan Trist
Imagine if they could sign former junior David Andersen as well!

I believe Frankston have signed Alister McDonald.

Have most teams signed their imports yet?

Why even bother. Seriously. He top scored last season in the SEABL and was effectively sacked from the United. Go figure.

Can confirm Trist is expected to miss the first 7 odd games but he will be playing with the Blues when he returns.

Schedule is out for the new league
http://nbl.com.au/news/article/nbl1-to-open-with-blockbuster-triple-header
Each team playing 20 games. Starts 29 March finishes 17 August.
Happy to see the Tigers playing lots of Sunday arvo games at MSAC.
Some oddities in there - including teams playing home games on consecutive days.

Another nice signing by the Blues women...
Saraid Taylor bolsters Powerade Franston Blues for NBL1 season
Reid linking up with her WNBL squad team member Taylor and her former college buddy JoAnna Smith. One would think there would be some immediate chemistry there.

Frankston is going to have a hell of a year.

Frankston shaping up a decent roster.
Hope they can make a run at the finals this year.

Been on the cards for a while. I know of at least one other club was very interested in him.
