Taipans vs United, 3 Nov 2018
Was that GordonG who nearly get kicked in the face?
No 'nearly' about it. That hurt. Oh well, the Cairns Post photog got a ball in the face too...

I wouldn't play Moller at the 2. Defensively he can play almost anywhere with his combination of agility, height and length, but you can't have one ball handler on the floor.
I haven't seen enough of Kennedy yet, but I don't think he's really a 2 either. Ideally United should have 2 of CG, Casper, McCarron and Hooley on the court, in order to have a balanced offensive lineup.

The big worry for Cairns is their barebones bench, which makes them lean heavily on their starters. Not ideal for the likes of Jawai and Loughton.
Loe is ok and *gulp* Walker can be effective at times, but that’s where the buck stops really.

Agree with the commentators, Cairns need help for Trimble and Newbill otherwise they're headed for the spoon.

Casper- what a way to bounce back after a sub par start to the season.

I don't think I'd draw too much from this game re: Cairns. Melbourne shot the ball stupidly well from 3. It happens. Cairns weren't great, but Melbourne would have beat any team in the NBL shooting like they did tonight.

Cairns could go 4-24

Why is Hall still in the league? Catch and shoot guy who can't buy a bucket.

I know OKc will be watching film of Hall anyway..but Hall chose a particularly bad game to put on a horror show with the OKC player development coach in attendance. 1/10 FG eek. Disappointing defence too and that was one of his strengths.

Melo is the only thing keeping this close-ish.

Cairns doing well to be within 10 at this point. Still an opportunity here but need to step up.

Hall isn't a knock down spot-up shooter, can't finish through contact, and doesn't have a mid range game. Struggling to see what got him NBA attention.

Loe just stands back and watches Ware waltz into the key.

Good. can't wait to give that flopper 90+ mins of feedback on his inability to stay on his feet. I've already started drinking so I'm nice and warmed up.

No real favorite here. 50/50 game.
Looking forward to Trimble vs Casper, who's found some form.
All eyes staying on DJ Kennedy from a season point of view. He needs to show more than he has so far.

Go Taipans .
Will be interesting to see how much love Mitch gets .
Will he start for Goulding ?

I don't really get Serge Ibaka; yeah he blocks a lot of shots and looks great doing it, but he is always out of position. Personally I think he is about to be exposed against the Spurs as a athletic shot blocker with little actual idea on how to defend.
