Adris DeLeon sacked

I don't know for sure, but I believe the biggest reason McVeigh isn't getting minutes is that he's been a defensive liability. He mentioned it himself in an interview that offensively he was comfortable but he and the coaches needed more from him defensively. The few times i've seen him on the court he's been a bit of a traffic cone as his opposite number flashes past him for a lay-up.

What's adelaides version of a Dunigan

If Adelaide sign Conger then good luck to Jack McVeigh seeing any court time this year... well I got it wrong thinking that he'd be Rookie of the Year.

Adelaide would be the worst team in the league if Cairns didn't shoot themselves in the foot vs United and are still clearly bottom

Conger would make sense. While not great defensively by any means, he is the style of player that fits Joey's style and will probably thrive in it. Now they'll be able to switch a lot more than they could with DeLeon on the floor.

Conger started out the year very well in France but dropped away in recent games and Le Mans announced he had been released yesterday.

Yes he is too bad for a 3-6 team to tolerate any longer with but he would be perfect for the ladder leaders.

I love a conspiracy, so is there anything to suggest that, considering Adris is Joey's boy, that AAdris was just a placeholder until such time as the player they actually want becomes available?

And on Deleon, he was actually good defensively, from what I saw. Very disruptive, timely steals. One steal in Cairns changed the complexion of the whole game. I thought he was solid, and certainly better value for money than Wiley (if you say Deleon signed for something like $80k and Wiley $250k).

Interesting. I think they need a taller versatile wing guy who can switch defensively, rebound, handle and run. Losing Creek and Childress in that department and not really bringing in a similar style of player was optimistic.

He has a longer term contract in DR too, so made sense for both parties. He’s a great guy, wish him the best.
