WNBL / NBL refs incompetence
WNBL has reviewed the incident but thinks it was incidental. Capitals coach and players fined for their comments.
Thread here

"The article is about wnbl not using nbl referees moron." We know how the moron is now don't we.

what you couldn’t read where the NBL and WNBL don’t talk and the refs don’t ref both leagues?

maybe if you read more than the first paragraph you would have seen this bit
The home-cooking in Canberra has not been addressed by Don't-Carey and it only took a few quick phone calls to find there's hardly a WNBL coach bothering to speak with him post-rounds because "it's a waste of time."
The Capitals are good enough to win the league without wind-assistance but they get it regardless and either the WNBL or BA is too cheap to fly some refs around, or take the view "it all evens out in the end", which it doesn't.

The article is about wnbl not using nbl referees moron.

So Boti is accusing the Caps of home cooking? Is that why they complain when they hit the road and the foul count is marginally against them like today? (15-21 foul count) On Friday night it was 17-22 with at least a couple of those being intentional to stop the clock at the end of the game judging by the play by play so again relatively even. Neither of those foul counts seem lopsided enough to be worth crying about even if they did believe in a magical world where both teams always foul equally.

Maybe the OP should go read Boti’s article recently on the relationship between the NBL and WNBL commissioners and then realise most of his inference is false.

So it goes on.

What exactly is the point being raised? That the refs are incompetent? If so what is the solution?

I have watched 100's of games over a long period of time at all levels and I can assure you the point raised is 100% valid.

Probably the same ref who didn't call a foul on the bloke who split open Greg Hire's face in NZ a week ago.
