As in my other posts I argue Mike and Jamie haven’t figured how to stop making their charges look bad.
As an example, Rob Lowe is dismissed as useless by plenty of punters for failings like ....well, presumably like his stepping away from the obvious offensive threat in the low post (mid first half, v Adelaide) to guard a weakside assignment.
Hey, Lowe has understood his options since he made the U16 rep team as bottom age player.
But since, he has also learned, as every Pro player must, that ‘ yours is not to reason why’, just do, even if it makes you cry. Lowe is following a programmed rotation, a rotation that the rest of the team has absorbed. No-one was surprised. No-one on the coaching staff was exasperated.
Just another dud.
Newbill is another obvious example. He no longer plays to make a difference; he plays when the others have made a difference. [ He must now, each day, be calculating the career cost of joining a dud programme,]

As for Brad, terrific guy, terrific player as he was, there is a clinical explanation for why he rarely makes eye-contact with the world: it won’t help the Taipans for me to go on about it, but clearly he’s not helping.
