That's because the NBL has 20 to 1 ratio of topics/posts on this forum in general, it's a more popular league. The field hockey leagues in both men and women in this country for example are world class, but get no coverage anywhere, they're just not popular, neither is WNBL comparative to NBL.

That’s one hypothesis. You’ve taken a generalist “political” position, namely that society demonstrates inherent sexism in promoting male endeavours (sports) more than female endeavours (sports). This is generally regarded as true. You’ve then hypothesised that this explains why one specific hoops thread has less replies than another, and attributed this to inherent sexism on the hoops forum. This could be interpreted as a misapplication of inductive reasoning. I certainly regard it as such.

An alternative hypothesis could be posited, namely that the first thread wasn’t that interesting, and that this thread is overly derivative, and therefore even less interesting. If you look at other derivative threads and counted responses, you’d see the same phenomenon. With the possible exception of ant-Perth threads, because Perth bashing cuts across all gender, racial, culture, class and political divides.
