Can Cairns avoid the spoon?
Ok
I agree the scenario of Cairns avoiding the spoon is pretty unlikely to occur.
BUT they’ve shown more heart, managed to win a game in OT and seem to be listening to coach Kelly.
Cairns have nothing to lose, and yes, individuals have contracts to play for. If they go out every game believing they’re a chance (they seem to have some belief now) they could cause a few “upsets” (is there really such a thing this season) and win a few more games.
That would be much better for fans, sponsors and the league than just going through the motions every game.

No I don't think Cairns will avoid the spoon, but of course it is possible mathematically.
If they do do well in the next month it will be because most players are playing for contracts.

Let's not forget about young boys in bikinis.
No one thinks about 'young boys in bikinis'.
Only you it would seem.

You forgot to change into Wendy Byrd before with your PC nonsense Manu...
Cairns will get the spoon because they are terrible, even if NZ lost every game Cairns may not catch them.

The problem for NZ is that they will be running into Hawks and Sixers a lot over the coming weeks, and those teams will be hungry as hell. A week ago it was an advantage to play those two teams in the race for a playoff spot, but now they're probably out of the running.
Culture issues will especially show up at this point of the season for NZ. They'll be an interesting watch that's for sure

Let's not forget about young boys in bikinis. Don't want to ostracise them. It's 2019

Never say never......
Cairns (apart from that shocker against Brisbane) have not been playing bad ball. Sport is 90% mental and so if teams go in un-prepared or over confident, they will pick up 4+ wins faster than a young girl in a bikini gets Instagram likes.

The money to the creditors was not paid yesterday as agreed/signed. The Tomlinsons gained back control of the Blaze when they agreed to pay 73 cents per dollar to creditors (except Brendan Joyce) within 21 days but when they decided to remove their submission to NBL, they just walked away from that agreement.
The Blaze is officially in liquidation.
