Natalie Novosel suffers an(other) ACL tear :(
Shock for Lightning as Novosel Ruled Out for Season

I don't believe they are doing enough scouting. You have Perth with 2 solid imports and other teams signing imports with less talent than what we already have here.

Pretty terrible squad to build off bar maybe carleton and Aokuso. Can't see them competing even with a terrific coach.

Another good get is Townsville signing Shannon Seebohm
Gold medal winner Shannon Seebohm signed to coach Townsville Fire

That is a good get.

That is a good get.

Perth Lynx have apparently signed Imani McGee-Stafford for the upcoming season, which is a great get.

I would say every chance seeing as how she is already playing under Mark Wright in NBL1, and hes the GM for the new team that has NOTHING to do with Dandenong Rangers any more.
will this new team have to honor any player contracts that Rangers had with other players that extended past last season, or is everything new?

From Olgun Uluc
Inbox: Sally Phillips has stepped down as Head of the WNBL, effective today.

Catching up on some recent-ish signings:
Natalie Novosel --> Adelaide
Nadeen Payne & Marena Whittle --> Perth
Tessa Lavey & Shyla Heal --> Bendigo

Townsville sign Julie Vanloo. Averaging 14ppg, 6.8 apg in 32 mins in the Eurocup.

WNBL minimum wage increases from $7,500 to $13,000 for the next 2 seasons.
WNBL and Australian Basketballers’ Association secure increased minimum player payment

Lightning about to announce a very good get

Spirit resign Tobin - announced on twitter

Hopefully the teams recruit well this year and push out those that are not wnbl level.

Tolo re-signs at Canberra.
Wilson re-signs at Sydney.

Katrina Hibbert named head coach of Sydney Uni for the next 2 season
Brydens Sydney Uni Flames appoint Katrina Hibbert as Head Coach

Paul Goriss re-signs with Canberra for 2 years.
In his presser, he said Leilani Mitchell and partner were living in Newcastle which might make Sydney more attractive for her.

Agree with anonymous on Goodbody, he was a good GM.

Micaela Cocks has re-signed with the Townsville Fire.

Maybe not a popular opinion but I'd like to see burnette take over dandenong.
He's very good at developing youth and he's already located there. They need help in that department.
Harrower maybe back at bendigo?
Hopefully somehow Molloy goes and chambers comes in, matybe kereama takes over.
Would like to see a few ins from college and some more high quality imports from overseas. Coffey, nurse, taylor, mcphee, Allen type.
College kids coming home potentially. Bench and dp spots..
Smith, O'Neill to dandenong?
Froling to Townsville?
Mangakahia to ?
Nakkasoglu to ?
Turner, west etc

Fire GM Goodbody has left the building.
Big shoes to fill!

Farnsworth moving to Victoria from Perth to be with husband so could possibly be joining one of the teams down there.

Rumour is that Rangers are in talks to move to a private ownership model. New admin support needed to ensure success.

Are you talking about Chris to coach or daughter to play?

Johnson was a disaster. You cant win at this level with an import that barely plays

Chambers issues with Sydney this year was more likely to be an imbalance is her own availability, than the few injuriesthey had as most teams had injuries throughout the season
You clearly paid very little attention to the league this season.

Chambers issues with Sydney this year was more likely to be an imbalance is her own availability, than the few injuriesthey had as most teams had injuries throughout the season, flying in for trainings and then straight out isn’t ideal, no coach can be on top of their team needs with that schedule, she should have signed with a Rangers this season.
Mark Wright is back coaching at Melbourne tigers women, he may put his hand up, but a little rumour has someone already in the Rangers ranks is looking at the position ( and it’s not Lowe) reading between the lines of Rangers media release, they will be looking at not only those with prior experience but also those new to coaching ( but not basketball) at that level.
That pretty much opens it up for anyone LOL.

Chambers’ record this year was bad but it was a less resourced squad and had major injury troubles. I don’t think she suddenly lost her ability to coach.

chambers to rangers???????????????
Surely.
Boomers probably kicking themselves that they're unable to compete for her services.

"not seeking a new contract" LOL

Chambers gone from Sydney too

...Spain and Brazil both appear to have great incentive to lose in their final installment of men's Olympic basketball pool play.
The winner of the Spain-Brazil encounter would finish second in Group B and advance to a likely quarterfinal matchup with Argentina, with Team USA looming in the semifinals.
The loser, by contrast, would fall into a quarterfinal matchup with France and likely see Russia in the semifinals if it can get past the French, thereby avoiding the Americans until the gold-medal game.
