Thon Maker traded to Pistons for Stanley Johnson
Retirement??? He's only got a few years before pension.

And KD is a behemoth

Maker is very skinny for the NBA. He does not have much muscle at all

He's on a rookie deal, based on his play he'll get another deal but hardly lucrative. He's playing for his livelihood, why not go to a team where he'll get more playing time and showcase himself. Hope it works out for him, ultimately it should make him a better player rather than waving towels on the bench. Good news for boomers. And let's face it, Thon and his advisor have never been particularly loyal.
Same situation happens everywhere, right down to here in juniors. Someone might be playing div 2 at a strong club, go elsewhere and their suddenly in div 1 and may get a look in seniors, whilst other kids can boast all about their undefeated div 2 season and never get look in despite being better player.

I hold Australian athletes to a higher moral standard than Americans even though its probably wishful thinking.

I don't agree with calling that wrong. Wouldn't that be ring-chasing of a sort? What's wrong with a guy wanting to test himself more, prove himself, take on a bigger challenge, etc. These are all professional clubs. He's playing at the highest tier. Maybe he wants more attention and to angle for a bigger contract, but that's his choice.

There's something kind of wrong with players demanding trades when their team is one of the best in the league and will likely be in the mix during conference finals. Also Detroit is a sh#thole.

I reckon he looked at Delly getting minutes in Cleveland and figured his best chance to prove himself was a bigger opportunity.

If Johnson can regain his form, bucks get a steal.

Surely nike did not charge anything more than a donation fee for the angolan woman's uniform. Ridiculously oversized Times new roman font for the text on the front. Angolan Basketball Association should contact pe34 (the poster who had the blog
with nba/boomer designs). Isaac- perhaps putting this post and the carrie graf white shoes topic together as a 'Trivial issues from the Olympics' thread :)
