Jawai to France
I love how people spout off how good some of the Euro leagues pay. Firstly, only the top players get great money, the remainder is good or low depending on the talent. It’s not that easy to get a high level euro job.

Jawai playing for cairns next year?

Longer season but Italy, France, Russia, Germany, Spain, Israel, Turkey, Latvia, Greece pay very good coin.

Thanks MACDUB!

#998,
That was purely the wage bill. The website split out the wage from the total budget.
In fact, I've found an updated 2017 budget list and the figures have gone up even more by the looks. Strasbourg 17-18 wage bill looks like it has jumped to 2.5m EURO'S
Check it out here:

Can't get over some of those figures. Big money!

"Strasbourg had a wage bill of 2 million Euro's back in 2015. So across 12 players, this is an average of 166k euro's across all."
Is that wage bill or total basketball budget? Often in Europe the figure bandied is total budget.

Le Outbacques Shacques.

The NBL salaries for the players that are good enough to play high level euro is comparable, as it across a shorter time span.

LV, same reason French rugby pays absolutely mind-boggling numbers I suspect. Just a lot of very wealthy owners pumping money in; and good sponsorship as you have mentioned.
paul is probably the man to be commenting on salaries etc in the France Pro A - seems to know rough salaries from around the world well?
You here paul?

Interesting thanks MACDUB
These Euro teams mostly don't seem to play in front of huge crowds, I wonder where the money comes from.
Sponsorship presumably. But still bizarre they have much higher wages than here, but bball doesn't seem overly popular there

Melo Trimble & Brian Conklin are going to be playing on the same team in Puerto Rico during the offseason.

Let's see. Strasbourg had a wage bill of 2 million Euro's back in 2015. So across 12 players, this is an average of 166k euro's across all.
Sobey will have 40% of the season to play; so if we want to be really basic, 40% of 166k is 66k euros.
So across the 3 months for someone like Sobey, maybe like 15k - 20k EURO per month. Certainly not bad money. What's that..like $25k - $30k AUD a month.
Not sure about Jawai.
Understand that people get pretty good money in PR too as an off-season gig..always heard $80k to 100k USD for 3-4 months work as an import. Not sure how reliable that is. Seems high.

So average salary in NBL is 122k for Aussies and 222k for imports, according to a recent post on here.
How much would Jawai and Sobey be earning for 3 month stints in France I wonder

Ok, the regular season is done, so which clubs will be looking for new coaches??
Obviously Bendigo Women and Brisbane men, but who else? The most obvious first, Will Kilsyth look for a new mens coach to get some fresh ideas? What about Frankston? Is it time for change?
