FTA TV audiences increased by 5 per cent
Despite our PC world the WNBL has been ignored even though it is the oldest professional women's league by far. No credit at all goes to it for providing a pathway to female athletes way before it became an in vogue latest trendy thing to do.

So the NBL gets bumped because of that? I dont see the AFL or any other league get 'downgraded' to a secondary channel in favour of womens sport just to push a political agenda.
Its more to do with the NBL still being perceived as a lesser league than any other sports league, including the Super netball pre-season competition. And they probably use poor TV ratings for the NBL to justify doing it.

Netball is played by women though and there's a big push to promote women's sports right now to be politically correct

Just noticed channel 9 is showing the Super Netball League PRE SEASON grand final at the same time as Game 2, which is on 9Go. That is seriously messed up. NBL must do something about their FTA issues.

"Game 1 got just 24k on Fox Sports"
That's not too bad considering it was on the secondary channel 9 channels. Anyone know what the viewer numbers were on FTA? I know of a handful of people who tuned in that wouldn't have been able to if it was a fox exclusive. Hopefully it had a decent rating.

Game 1 got just 24k on Fox Sports

I was just having a think, and was wondering if it is possible for Australia to form a partnership with a college in America and run its entire basketball programme with Australian talent.
Everything would run as normal school wise except Basketball Australia would run the basketball team to develop its talent. Australian Coaches, and players. Sort of a continuation of the AIS but playing against American Schools in America.
