NSW Players Selected in Emus Team

Basketball Australia today announced the Emus team to play in the FIBA Oceania World Qualifying series against New Zealand with eight New South Wales players selected to the team.

New South Wales players selected are Mirko Djeric (Bankstown) Nicholas Duncan (Manly) Fabijan Krslovic ( Norths) Jack Lopez (Bankstown) Gerard Martin (Manly) Emmett Naar (Norths) Michael Rowley (Norths) Dougal Weir (Norths). The Eight players selected have all represented NSW Metropolitan at the last two Under 18 National Championships and all won Gold Medals.

The three game series against New Zealand being held in Wellington, NZ from 20 – 22 September, 2012 will determine who will represent Oceania at the FIBA World Championship in Prague Czech Republic from 4 – 14 July 2013.

Basketball Australia have announced the under 19 Gems team to play in the FIBA Oceania World Qualifying series against New Zealand with three New South Wales players being selected to the team.

New South Wales players selected are Brianan Kentwell (Bankstown) Maddison Penn (Gosford ) and Casey Samuels ( Bankstown ).All three players were members of the 2012 under 20 NSW state team Bronze Medal winning team

The three game series against New Zealand being held in Porirua (Wellington) NZ from 20 – 22 September will determine who will represent Oceania at the FIBA World Championship in Lithuania from 18 – 28 July 2013.
