Time to write off Thon Maker?
He is likely a 'bust' relative to the lottery status, and he has some major flaws I don't think he'll ever improve upon, but ge does bring some pretty major elements to the table - he plays hard, can really block shots as well as move his feet, can stretch the floor with the 3 ball and run the floor. Hands, strength and general coordination will really limit him but I would be disappointed if he didn't crack the Boomers squad. Possible purely due to our frontcourt depth - he's clearly 3rd string behind Bogut/Baynes, and Bolden/Simmons can slide up to the 5 too.

I can't see NBA GMs won't be writing off that sort of size and potential at 22, there are worse players who have played out long careers with less natural talent.
Can't see him in the NBL anytime soon

Not so much time to write him off but wouldn't be calling him a lock for Boomers yet.

I'll make my judgment at the end of next season.

As a raptors fan it would be appreciated if Bruno was never mentioned again. Thank you in advance.

Caboclo. Not sure how much stock we can take from his end of season run? The Grizzlies were absolutely tanking and threw him (and others) out there to ensure they weren’t competitive. Lots of run in junk games.

I think we need to remember he was put in mock drafts in the late first round - Milwaukee took a surprising flyer on him hoping he would develop (in the same way they made the call with Giannis).
He's got time. He may need to get gametime in the G-League to validate his position as an NBA player, but he's definitely got time. Look at Bruno Caboclo - the guy who was two years from being two years away has kinda made it, I guess?

Might be premature to write him off, but he's certainly getting his opportunities with Milwaukee and Detroit.
27% FG and 0/12 3P in the post-season.
Detroit are pretty thin at his position after Griffin so that at least works in his favour.

Ooh wow somehow I had forgotten that he was drafted No.l0 overall. That does make him a bust unfortunately.

At the risk of digging up the same old dirt, the question of his real age does come into it.
In terms of how much of his career is still ahead of him, and how much upside potential he still has.
Also, you can't really continue to judge players based on their draft pick. High or low, its still a gamble.

He's shown enough glimpses to ensure he'll be kept around for potential for at least a couple more years.
Seeing the progress a guy like Pascal Siakam made this season as a 25 year old shows guys can get it together later - especially those who came to the game at a later age.
He's been consistently a plus defender too, and with his length and agility should find himself a role there for the most part. The key will be finding what his role is on the offensive end.

The fact he's had periods of seasons showing the ability to hit the 3, he's got at least a few more years to try and gain some consistency and teams will give him a chance. Floor spacing rim protectors don't grow on trees.

He's still only 22 (if thats his real age lol). Still has at least a few years with the 'potential' tag attached to him before he's considered a total bust and out of the league if he doesn't improve.

his best mate the Greek freak probably help him say in the NBA

Should I buy one of the Internet or do any of you guys have any recommendations on how to increase my verticle?
