Surely they get rid of the wnbl by next year, a few teams constantly struggle to stay afloat.

Are any other WNBL teams in the same situation? Sharing ownership with their male counterparts?
You'd have to think, with the Wildcats anchoring the organisation, that the Lynx is an attractive destination.
And Perth is a nice place to live if you can afford it (and can afford the airfares.)

Aussie yes, scwagmeyer to perhaps.

Canberra again,

Probably Europe.

Where Bunton going?

No real Aussie big left.

With the Lynx announcing their second import this morning, their roster is now looking like....
C - McGee-Stafford **
C - Allen
F - Payne
GF - Schwagmeyer
GF - Whittle
G - Mansfield
G - Atkins **
G - Ebzery
The latest press release states they now have eight 'signed' players (as above), which makes you wonder what the status of Kayla Steindl is.
They are looking very weak inside so you can only assume she will be signing, unless they have another Aussie big up their sleeve.

Bendigo so far
Wilson/Heal
Lavey/Wehrung
.?/.?
Ernst/?
Tobin/?
Hopefully another big pf/c import and a sf or guard.
Also another top notch Aussie like Allen or Smith would be good.

Collins is a sf not a pf like Payne, not a comparison.

They only really rotated 9 players last year, and it looks like their team on paper is going to be like-for-like compared to last season....
C - Taylor >>> Import
C - Allen >>> Allen
F - Steindl >>> Steindl
F - Collins >>> Payne
GF - Schwagmeyer >>> Schwagmeyer
GF - Farnsworth >>> Whittle
G - Mansfield >>> Mansfield
G - McPhee >>> Atkins
G - Ebzery >>> Ebzery
Out of those nine, they have 5 returning players and 4 new additions.
The 5 returning players cancel each other out so let's have a look at the four additions...
F - Collins >>> Payne
That's a big win.
G - McPhee >>> Atkins
McPhee was hit-and-miss so that's a win.
GF - Farnsworth >>> Whittle
Farnworth on the back end of her career so another win.
C - Taylor >>> Import
This selection will determine whether they are a top-4 team or a championship team.
Overall the Lynx are coming together nicely and look to be no worse off than last year. The import centre selection could be season changing.

Ariel Atkins signs with Perth.
Nice signing, though as with seemingly all of our signings, a smaller player than I was expecting

Forgot about George too.

You also have Alanna Smith and Alicia Froling likely to fit in somewhere.
Both at pf probably though.

Scherf was leaving Canberra for a starting role. Maybe she might go to Perth, Adelaide or dandenong.
Bunton-Sydney
Tolo-Canberra
Magbegor-Melbourne
Tobin-Bendigo
Aokuso-Townsville
Adelaide-(Alexander?)
Perth-(?)
Dandenong-(?)

You would think Steindl will be back. She's currently living in Perth with Clint, and he will be back with the Wildcats.
She is actually a pretty important piece in the Lynx puzzle moving forward. Yes, she's at the back end of her WNBL career, but starting quality Aussie bigs are hard to come by, and whether she plays of not could be the difference as to whether the Lynx are championship contenders again.

Wilson, Lavey and Heal at PG for Bendigo.
Heal should have signed for Sydney to get more gametime.

Heal signed a 2-year contract with Perth, left after one year, and has now signed for Bendigo.
Shows you how much weight a contract can have... not much.

Heard that Geelong has been told they can't field a Div 1 team anymore due to the Supercats and basketball Geelong joining up. And the Big V not allowing teams to have more then 1 senior team and a youth league team. Interesting case as Geelong is the only team with a SEABL team and big v youth team!
Also Mildura pushing hard to enter SA league!
