@anon Yeah, they confirm that Hamilton is carrying an injury so they sat him out for the Ipswich game (at least). Won in a walk anyway :)

GordonG
Earlier this month
@CT I heard he's carrying a minor injury at the moment.
There was a Cairns Post article on him over the weekend. However I'm not a subscriber so can't read it. :(

the story of Thomas Hamilton and his dad's stint with the celtics is worth a read if there are any other Marlins fans out there:

SCU RipCity men go 1 from 2 on northern road trip. After Mackay had their way with Rip on Friday to the tune of around 30pts, the same Rip team beat Rocky in OT, 113/102 on Sat. After losing to Phoenix the week before, Rip were in danger of a 0/3 start to the season.

It was a fun game, the guys were enjoying themselves. And still one more player to come..

Cairns should sign Jurlina before Adelaide or even kings get him back. Played in same team as Naar and Moller, very good player that can cover the 1,2 and even 3 at pinch.

GordonG, yours is phonetic, anon's spelling is correct.

^^^ *Krslovic
I wonder if he's related to the Ivan Krslovic who appeared on Bachelor in Paradise?!

Alex flew down for the last game on Sunday. they looked pretty worn out on the live stream tbh.
tommy Hamilton wasn't great. he's got the size to be really effective qbl but I thought his shit selection was pretty poor and he struggled around the basket. I hope he comes good after a few more rounds.
the Fisher/krslivic/jurlina combo is solid though. sorry, I can't even begin to spell that second one.

CT, so adroit!
Did Alex travel at all?
And did the newby centre/ forward impress anyone?
(Probs not, after taking down the team. That’s Cairns.)

Cairns should be much better this weekend as the team had a gastro attack through it.

JR just wrote a very good blog at http://www.johnrillie.com about the 'underground NBL media' and the reluctance of NBL.com.au to utilise it to their advantage. Although I am a part of a NBL podcast, I read it as a total outsider and it makes A LOT of sense.

I truly believe it is time the NBL broadened their horizons and decided to use some of the material that bloggers provide to the basketball reading public. Very much like NBA.com use the likes of superstar Gilbert Arenas and others to spice up their otherwise generic website. Fans love to hear from the players and blogging is a great way to connect and be somewhat interactive with them.
He also mentions OzHoops and how it should be utilised by the NBL:

Also sitting in the crowd was the king of basketball forums, Derek Nielsen. Nielsen is the gatekeeper of the Ozhoops forum. Whether you
think these forums sites are good or bad, they are here to stay and they serve a purpose.
I feel Nielsen's expertise could be used in a situation such as this. Live blogging from the game. I'm not sure if any other media outlet was giving live, up to date scores on this game, but why not have Nielsen doing a live online analysis of the game. Bring something new to the table for the fans.
It makes so much sense and costs nothing extra! It widens the media spread which is what the NBL want, right? It could be as simple as adding a blog roll, weekly feature, links to sites, asking fans to write comments etc
What do you guys think?
