A National Clubs Tournament for U18s
top end players have a big enough commitment - whilst i like and support the concept may be too much

Can't even organise an end of season tournament for men and women champs from each state league let alone juniors.

Bit of a wash is it not? All those divisions and age groups. You need to focus the competition if it is to garner broader attention.
There is a focus on the U14 national clubs tournament - gets some attention, particularly from country newspapers when their local team makes a Cinderella run.

Nothing stopping QLD/WA teams nominating for Melbourne Classics is there?

The oldest age group for a national club tournament at present is the U14s, thereafter the metro-country regional format takes over. I have attended three U14 girls tournaments, each in my view attracted plenty of energy and grass roots support.
Clearly scheduling and sponsorship are key considerations. However, in floating the idea here, I am keen to read whether others believe that the concept has merit. If not, can others suggest an alternative?

Pre-season or otherwise what are we doing in this country... Zero promotion of the Blitz, you wouldn't know the season was around the corner and soccer are signing the likes of Del Piero after some shaky times in recent months.
Can BA not continue on in the same vein after the Nbl Tv announcement.., your work is far from done.
This years batch of imports once again show a decline in talent, it was always about the dollar not good enough against the greenback, what now? Europe has always been there even when we were getting guys like Powell at the Breakers which wasn't that long ago.
Yes reduced teams mean more Aussies taking roster spots therefore commanding higher salary ala Adelaide with the Blaze demise but when did the appeal of our country decline so much we stop having top line guys come out.
Reading other posts on who will be sacked first you could make a case for a number of them after watching last night with some horrible performances which I can see not getting a great deal better. Henry, Scott, Brasswell, Crocs duo, then you have role players like Hudson who is hardly one to have turnstiles swinging.
On the flip Cairns have a solid pair, Lazarre will be asked to have monster performances REGULARLY, Hawks got a nice duo and Massingale can score but will be a role player.
Cairns are one or two guys short from contending so it's Breakers, Sixers, Hawks and Wildcats taking it home this year. Hawks a real smokey and Gruber is the key, mark my word.
