LaMelo to the Hawks both makes sense from a team needs standpoint (which the NBL considers when assigning players to teams) and had been mentioned as a rumor here before those podcast guys got on to it. Nothing to see there from them.

I think it will be dependent on finals chances, obviously they don't have the cash to splurge on a great third import. Added to that, I think they'll spend big on their PG, and then possibly start Grida and go from there.

The four spot is where their season will be decided for mine - if they resign Andersen then I think they'll start him over Froling and hope he progresses quickly. Bairstow would have been a good fit next to Boone and AJ but I'd say he's out of their price range now.

I reckon Andersen will sign and if needed will retire and take assistant coaching job with the Hawks

Interesting possibility of leaving 1 (or even 2) import slots available.

Would Illawarra decide to bring out another import based on:
A. Their chances of finals, ie bring in a better quality option if they’re in with a shot, to “get them over the line”; or
B. Their finances, ie bring in what they can afford?

Or even option C, look for a player type based on attendances, ie provide the crowds a reason to go to games?

I'd be pretty confident the Hawks are going with 2 imports only & bringing back Ando as the veteran leader & captain.
