Whilst I understand your points and I don't want him here either but Terrence Ferguson did next to nothing at NBL level and as for Cairns, surely everyone remembers Scoochie Smith and how he couldn't even start for Cairns, surely this dude is atleast at Scoochie's level, otherwise why are we talking about it?

Yes Cairns and Liangelo share very similar traits.

Liangelo is cheap.
Liangelo's brand is worthless.
Liangelo is unrated.
No one else wants Liangelo.

Ok, so that would make him ineligible for the Next Stars program.

So the question is whether he's worth burning an import slot on?
And for Cairns, I'd say that's a definite no.
Ok, so they tend to go shopping for cheaper unproven imports, but they still need them. Not as much local talent means they are more reliant on those slots, not less.

He's be more of a chance at a club like Sydney, where they either don't fill the 3rd import slot, or go for a cheapo option.
And by the sounds of it, he's not even up to that standard.

Maybe he should try for an NBL1 import slot?
