Breakers announce Shamir as director of basketball
"Wouldn't that have made Braswell a de facto assistant, essentially qualifying as constructive dismissal anyway?"
That would depend on the wording of the DoC's job description and if that was deemed reasonable. Having a new layer of management brought over you isn't that uncommon in the business world.

So if Braswell goes to court, he does that in a New Zealand court and not an Australian court (Australian league) ?
Dumb question but I hope if he did go to court it wouldn't be thrown out because he's in the wrong court

Wouldn't that have made Braswell a de facto assistant, essentially qualifying as constructive dismissal anyway?

If they changed the job title just to get out of paying braswell out I'm not sure this stands up in court if it is clear that the job is still the same

Breakers Twitter (Marc Hinton, Andrew Price etc) have commented that the Dir of Basketball is a semantic title - he's the Head Coach.
I wonder how much Braswell got paid out, and I also wonder what this says about the American ownership's influence on the Breakers. Far less of a Kiwi club - I'm skeptical that this will pay off.

Normally a way of shafting someone you don’t want to pay out by getting rid one position and creating a new one.

The new structure has resulted in Head Coach Kevin Braswell leaving the club last month.

Yes the article clearly said he's replacing Braswell. No it doesn't. It in fact goes out of its way to specify whether or not Shamir is the head coach. All it says is he's in this newly-created position and the restructure has led to Braswell departing the club.

Oh ok. So maybe the head coach role doesn't exist anymore and the responsibilities have been absorbed into the director role.

Yes the article clearly said he's replacing Braswell.

Yeah, they're going out of their way to avoid making any comment one way or the other on the head coaching role, which is....odd. Wonder if they're trying to get someone else, but have him as a backup plan?

In Basketball what would define as the best offense:
A) to win games of Basketball
and
B) best offense to educate and develop better Basketball players
