Biggest basketball games on Australian soil

Or if you break it down between biggest tournament and biggest standalone game on our soil then you'd have:

2000 men's Olympics as the tourney
one of these two games (depending on result), if you exclude Olympic warmups and consider them linked to the main tournament.

Agreed. 2000 Olympics men's tournament was the biggest due to Dream Team featuring followed now by this.

A nice recap of the only Team USA vs Boomers game in Australia until tonight, a warm up game in Melbourne prior to the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

2000 Olympics, opals v USA. Jackson at 17 deserved the gold she was magnificent, rest of team not so much.

The Sixers are sitting pretty in the four, but have some stiff competition to hold their spot long term. Whatever the result tonight, they will stay there, but who do we want to win?

Sydney seem to be the side that are unpredictable this year with the Hammer extracting wins from tight games like a dentist extracting a tooth without anaesthetic, whereas Cairns are well placed to exploit their home court to their advantage.

Madgen is having his best season yet and almost scoring at will. Aaron "floppy Joe" Bruce is flourishing under the tutelage of Heal and Sydney's team espirit de corps is their strength.

Wilson is my favourite Taipan, Tragagh a close second.

I think this will be a tight game with Crosswhite holding the key to tonight's success one way or another. A highlight will be the Bruce vs Bruce matchup if they get a chance. Cairns is a long way from the dusty floor in Hornets stadium.

I hoping and tipping for a Cairns win to keep the Sixers in the 4.
