Schueller to Geelong
Thanks dad

They haven't kind of the point. Varley was on the bench off and on for years.

Like to see a couple of young locals developed. Don't mind a few MU bench players but now a monopoly of basketball in Geeling surely dictates develop some home grown players. Do not mean Varley etc who have had the chance for years now. New blood injection please.

Reg you do know that Dave selected the coaches

Above is this the club for you. All negativity. Back on topic are you happy with SHUELLER.

I’m sure budget helped , but wouldn’t have a clue to what extent,Shelley could have stayed closer to home, she can’t receive payment, and Akuso improved every week, and re VJBL selections don’t put yourself in a position where nepotism is the the first skill to be selected,be a realist and go and coach where your child belongs, don’t have good long term committed kids in the twos, let’s just wait and see where this group ends up,and end of season results is all you can go on,

Interesting, yes Herbert is a quality coach. As for Young Opals etc Budget surely helped secure these players.

Reg
Believe David Herbert was involved in appointing coaches.
Pathway development positions are a hard gig. Merging 2 clubs huge. They will not get everything right and keep everyone happy.
Lucky Bellarine close for the unhappy

FACT,
Just hope new person hasn’t had to many tribunal visits
FACT don’t bring coaches in that gift there own kids a spot in the first team when CLEARLY way out of there depth,no matter how good said coach maybe,
FACT ,this is going to be seriously funny

Fact signed on as nbl1 coach for another 3 years.
Fact has a new local role at a High School now offering Basketball Acedemy
Fact new role to be announced.
All vjbl messy when parents don't get what they want. FACT

Will be interesting to see if David Herbert still wants NBL 1 gig,has resigned from role with Geelong United, which is a great shame as they won’t replace him with either the quality of person or coach that he is,was able to attract high quality young future and current opals to program and if he is not around I’m not sure what type of side they will put on the floor, good luck to him in his new venture, good luck to Geelong United in trying to fill those shoes, because if rumours are true it will be funny watching on,looks like some messy selections amongst there VJBL sides, but that’s basketball.

Watkins would probably want to take over as he would think no one else would be good enough.
And it would be his way or the highway.

Cash grabbing coaches - being paid to do a job at the near professional level is not allowed now?
This is crazy, coaches need to be paid too! Time away from family, putting up with non-coaches on forum boards. I don't know all the background but money is money if Geelong see it fit to pay the man they will pay him. Results industry, its what are the results that the club wants.

Loyalty lol. Never saw him at anything other then a SEABL or Nbl1 game. Not at vjbl, not at clinics, never at domestic. Bring on Justin and let's hope his contract has precision to connect with the Juniors.

Loyalty is not around in any form of business any more. Sport probably the worst of the lot.
One coach with big budget who fails replaces coach with small budget that does better, you work it out.

Nicely said and could not be more spot on. Leon has been shafted, with the team he had this year to make finals was an incredible achievement. Hoping another association picks Leon up.

Yep, that's the budget!

Wait until he finds out the player budget :)

Well, that is totally against what a merger of the Associations stands for! Why merge and create a huge Association if not to provide a pathway, which is what Schueller's first job should be to support the local talent and start sorting out his best local options?

"the 35-year-old found out on Friday that his dream of helping Townsville to a maiden NBL championship would not be able to come true..."
Pretty sure that dream was dead long before the surgery...
