Women's Asia Cup 2019, Opals vs China
^ That's not a bad side, but while Griffin & Mitchell are both walk-up starts at their respective positions, I think that we're a better team with Mitchell.
I'm not sold on Garrick either.

It's pretty much next month, early nov
Oh geez. Ok. So probably no Smith then. What is Tolo's status? Is Cambage available?

Not a bad call, Red84. It did feel a bit like that.
About the only positive from this tournament so far has been the increased responsibility that Magbegor has got. She has handled it pretty well given her age.

When is the tournament? I gather it is after the WNBL season? If so I want to see who is healthy & who is playing well here. And who looks like they actually want to pull on the green & gold in Tokyo.

Today we saw a team of players that focus laser like on their role, beat a team of generalists.

Thoroughly uninspiring match. Opals lucky that Japan were badly off target in the early stages because it could have been worse.

And yay, we have been blessed with Shane Heal commentating from a studio :/
Basketball commentary in this country seems to be all about helping Heal recover from his bankruptcy by assigning him to every game possible.

Cayla George is the worst player I’ve ever seen play. Her pick and roll defence and defence in general is disgusting

Opals-Japan semi final about to tip off.

Garbin has done little to earn her spot, looks, lost a lot of the time. Need more time developing.
shes is almost 26 has been at the AIS, played WNBL for years how much more can she develop, this is the problem, why not let the younger ones have a crack, they insist on having players who literally have stagnated for years in their position, and you always here, lets see how they develop....

The Phoenix squad is a bit of a disgrace. 8 of 12 players over 32 + Griner at 29. Smith decimated before her injury and Cunningham not played much either. Has a bit of the 'Ross Lyon's' about the coaching orientation.

It was a shocker for sure, and Ebzery whilstbshe May have “attacked” the basket ,of simply throwing yourself at the opposition to get to the line is the crux of our garment, it’s a pretty dismal future and her defence was awful , O’Hea plays with so much heart and Allen getting fouled off didn’t help, but it’s not good signs if this is what they are producing, China are a well drilled team, but they are nothing next to the likes of Spain and the USA, on fact several euro teams would have a stronger group .

AWWWWW YOU! THIS WAS DREADFUL STUFF MAN.
Leilani Mitchell 3/11. Are you KIDDING ME?
Yeh good one Sandie Brondello, not playing Lauren Nicholson A SINGLE DAMN MINUTE. Meanwhile other players stink up the court and play big minutes. Then the dopey FIBA website says Abby Bishop was the best performer when she did NOTHING. what is going on with this program?
It isn't good enough.

Thought the time outs were a bit lack lustre, coach made up for them with those stiletto's though....

Was definitely a sub par performance from the Opals. China were good and exposed the Aussies weaknesses, but the Opals had plenty of opportunities and never took them.
