Big V 2020
Above anon. Not discounting your "word" source but that would be from BV so either you know the plan or you come from an nbl1 club. Do tell more.

Word has it that if Big V gets back up and running this year there will be a few NBL1 clubs in the top tiers

Anyone know of any teams that won't play / opt out ?

Looking at mid-July for Big V

Big V playing rosters will be cut down once comp returns

Absolutely no chance Big V returning in June or at all. Earliest indoor competition that will allow more than 20 will be August.
A game requires the following
Minimum 20 players
Minimum 2 coaches
2 team managers
3 referees
4 scorebench
1 court announcer
Admin staff to run venue
That’s 50 people before any crowd. Kidding yourself if you think there will be competitive games being played.
The BA return to court strategy stated consideration to 3x3 Competition before any 5x5.

Vjbl and NBL1 won’t return this year.
Some Domestic and Big V will.

Says your crystal ball above. Let's get through week 1 of the next phase first. Oh and some training would be great and by the way kids will be first.

Big V Start date of June 27Th, likely to be announced soon

I would have thought the Big V would have made some sort of official statement by now. Does anyone know what is actually going on?

Lol yes but with social distancing.. Hard to play 1.5m away from opposition. Oh and nobody been on a court or trained in 3 months.

Pubs open in Melbourne June 1st... that’s usually indoors...

By time Soccer is back 20th June Victorians will have been back in pubs for 3 weeks and AFL will of had 2 weeks of games. Surely Big V would be back not long after that.

All levels of Soccer competition to return by June 20 in Victoria.
Will this mean a return to basketball will be not far off?

Don’t fool yourself. Some Big V teams training indoors privately

Any rumblings on Big V going ahead? Training seems like it could actually be right around the corner and with MP Andrews pub, cafe restrictions being eased and footy starting back up... anyone heard what any of the plans could be for Big V?

All good and well if there is no season

Cancellation is for this weekend only at this stage. However, The Discussion in BV is the Big V season will either reduced to a 9 round season where everyone plays each other once starting at the end of May or cancelled altogether

Games suspended... not cancelled. Likely they will add double headers to make up the games. Champ Mens has no double headers for example - easy fix.

Word is all gatherings above 500 people should be banned. BigV games should be safe then..?

Both years kulas never made finals.

Both years kulas never made finals.

Wyndham favourites, McKinnon and Keilor will be up there in the women’s

Can we get some predictions on the women’s divisions as well

Both are in the Keysie hall of fame

Yes... really...

Who’s Tankov?

He is trying to set a record for playing for the most clubs. If he was any sort of a player or a bloke he would stay somewhere for more than a year or as was the case with his last 2 clubs half the year haha

Until teammates and coach get sick of him playing no d and taking turnaround fade-aways from the ft line. Jersey collection would be nice!

Additionally, predictions for D1M as well?
Camberwell vs. Shepparton - Shepparton I would think would be a little too strong for Camberwell coming up from D2M
Southern Pen vs. Collingwood - Could be a close one but I think Southern Peninsula will be coming in very prepared for this one.
Bulleen vs. Warrnambool - From what I have heard, Warrnambool are a very young team. Bulleen to win.
Keysborough vs. Coburg - Keysborough and Platenik to be too strong.
Warrandyte vs. Melb Uni - Warrandyte comfortably. I think Melb Uni might struggle this season.
Corio Bay/Geelong Utd vs.Bellarine - Haven't heard much but I think Geelong will be stronger than Bellarine.

Predictions:h
Hawthorn beat Westernport - westernport roster not up to scratch.
Chelsea beat Sunbury - Chelsea too much talent and scoring power. Sunbury just not enough talent and will struggle entire season.
Casey beat Hume - Casey have a lot continuity from previous season and have too much scoring power.
Keilor beat McKinnon - rumblings of troubles with McKinnon imports. McKinnon will struggle adjusting to playing without stith/tomada combo.
Wyndham beat Blackburn - no kulas for another month. No word on if a second import was signed. Patton not enough to get wins.

Additionally, predictions for D1M as well?
Camberwell vs. Shepparton
Southern Pen vs. Collingwood
Bulleen vs. Warrnambool
Keysborough vs. Coburg
Warrandyte vs. Melb Uni
Corio Bay/Geelong Utd vs.Bellarine

So anthony kimble must be an aussie now despite spending months abroad every year

Champ Men Predictions
Hawthorn beat Westernport
Chelsea beat Sunbury
Hume beat Casey (Game of the Round for me)
McKinnon beat Keilor
Blackburn beat Wyndham
Champ Women Predictions
Southern Pen to beat Sunbury
Casey to beat Hume
Wyndham to beat Whittlesea
Keilor to beat Hawthorn (Game of the Round for me)
McKinnon to beat Bulleen

Championship Men Games this weekend:
Hawthorn vs Westernport
Sunbury vs Chelsea
Casey vs Hume City
McKinnon vs Keilor
Blackburn vs Wyndham (werribee)
Predictions?

Any last practice games take place across the league over the long weekend?

Season commences next Saturday!

Pledger has not signed at Keilor. Chelsea are in discussions with him offering very big money

Keilor also had Daniel Dillion signed. But he has actually signed in Poland. Bunch of rubbish rumours from keilor. No confirmation on pledger signing.

Casey will struggle with Lemons in foul trouble. His offensive and defensive output unmatched.
If lemons can remain out of foul trouble Casey will have the highest scoring output this season along with Chelsea.
Really interested to see how teams match up against the starting 5 lineups of Casey and Chelsea this season.

#796454 by the sounds of it you were at Coburg yesterday
What was the result of the other game vs RMIT?

Any scores?

Any scores from the last stretch of preseason games? I’ve seen a lot of posts about them happening but haven’t heard any scores

Fair enough then. Formosa indeed will be fantastic if he’s there. But probably not enough to guarantee the flag. Who knows!

^^^ I’ll believe that when I see it and even if it is D2M we’re talking about, Kimble is so mediocre, always has been.

Ah yes, the annual “Altona to win easily” post. Then they win 2-5 games for the year. Must be close to round 1!

Was at the McKinnon game, pretty sure it was double figures they won by. McKinnon were without a big chunk of the main rotation and played the imports for barely 15 minutes each and yet could have still easily won by 30+ if they tried just a little.
Please keep the lid on the looney bin down there at Keysy, you are a long way off.
