Houston v Washington *Spoiler*
Saw highlights and Harden and Westbrook were loving it, the win for them being an extra bonus.
It kind of makes me miss 48mins in the NBL when you had the odd crazy scoring game from time to time, like anytime Bullets-Crocs matched up in the early/mid 2000s and going back even further the Tigers of the 90s.

It's not so much the defensive abilities of a lot of players but rather the systems of the teams and defensive rules that the NBA employs.
For Washington who are one of, if not the worst team in the NBA, to score over 150 really says something about Houston's defensive schemes.
However is it really a surprise. Also, these teams have to play a long season and why grind down the best players with defense when they know they can get the job done most of the time without it.

OP, if you think there was tough defense in the NBA 80s you haven't watched many games from then. It wasn't until the mid 90s that the D took over when teams actually started to scheme rather than 5 guys playing single coverage man D. The Bad Boys were lauded for actually having a scheme vs MJ.

Yes, nba going backwards, it’s entertaining but it’s soft and the travel rules should be enforced.

That lack of intensity on the defensive end and the reluctance to call anyone for taking five steps are exactly why I just don't bother with the NBA anymore. Stopped being basketball many years ago, purely entertainment now.

You could argue that just as some people argue the world is flat

so, nbl is getting bigger, the average attedance this season is 4780, 1288 higher than is was 4 season ago.
but do you think NBL will continue to grow?
do you think it could ever be as big as A-league is now?
