Satire aside, it is a physical league, I think many of us and the players not only acknowledge it but the players by and large don't mind it that way.
So, in a physical league where rules of contact apply, such as in the case of basketball, the officiating will always be inconsistent, subjective and frustrating.
Either we accept this and get on with the game or we sit here and carry on like the coach did and just place more focus on the fact that we have a very physical league!

Agree about the moving screens - they're so blatant but yet they're allowed. It seems that sticking the backside out is allowed, and turning the body as well; sticking the hip and leg out seems to be called inconsistently.
The other one which pisses me off intensely is where the attacker being close-marked can push the defender's arm away (often with a little head-check to suck in the refs) and often get a favourable foul call out of it.
In each case, the attacker went out of his cylinder or was moving in order to cause the contact, whereas the defender stayed in his cylinder or tried to avoid contact.
Ffs be consistent, refs!!

'Moving Screens' - I have searched for this innovation and inclusion for this season's NBL, can't seem to find it yet all teams appear to be using this tactic successfully, go figure!
No wonder there is a sense of frustration out there...

772400, your statement reflects exactly what I feel too.
Very late in the game was an incident where a player (I think Ware) asked for a review. As the request was being declined, I overheard the I-don't-make-mistakes ref say something like "No, I don't think that needs a review".
Is the review system there only for the refs' sake or can the teams (coach or capt) actually ask for (= demand) the review, ala cricket?

How is it the refs re so arrogant cock sure of themselves yet come review they seem to be more open to possibility they could God forbid have made an error. Self seeking glory seeking. You clownsgo to the review because of poordecisions they should be fined for stuffing up.
So over there f... ups.

It was a little bizarre when he wandered off into arguing that Sydney shoots more shots near the hoop than any other team but only gets to the free throw line the 6th most
6 games into your coaching career, perhaps a bit early to be implying the league has some conspiracy against your team
Seemed weird. You'd think the embarrassment of the moment (a tantrum which would make a 3 year old proud...helping your team to a first loss) would create a golden opportunity for some introspection and humility
Instead, quite the opposite. Makes you wonder where his emotional intelligence is at. A quality you need as a pro sport coach no less

Surely he gets fined for his comments in that presser. He would have enjoyed watching all of Ware’s trips to the charity stripe in the second half.

Weaver didn't do himself any favors In the presser either
30 seconds saying how he respects the NBL officials.... then..."BUT" 5 minutes justifying his outburst
Something tells me he hasn't really learnt his lesson

Weaver should miss a game for that.
Bad look for the game.

I can only guess weaver had already yelled at the refs about the same thing on other screens.

Seems a bit of an over-reaction to one bad call, though - there are usually lots worse to complain about!

"I'll show those Hoops f#^&ers, taking the piss out of me".......
