LaMelo Ball vs Cairns

Lot height difference between Ball and Randle or Cotton.

Years ago

And people like Randle, Cotton who dominated the nbl and can't get a gig in the nba at all.

I’d almost forgotten about how terrible Terrance Ferguson was. If he had been a traditional import that season, a contributor, Adelaide would’ve gone very close to winning the whole thing. Instead they choked against a shot hawks team who were murdered in WA.

#883 Ferguson hardly played when he was in the nbl.

Incorrect he was a starter for the vast majority of the season despite how bad he was and eventually Joey got sick of the rest carrying him and benched him on the even of the playoffs.

Hall and Bowen were badly were badly coached and should have been starters. Blame the nbl coaches

Yeah of course it was the coaches fault Hall was garbage couldn't hit a shot to save himself yet he's now in the NBA and Bowen wasn't even good enough to start.

I don't hear you rubbishing the NBA for signing NBL scrub imports though?

Ben Simmons was a number one pick, so you are saying nbl shit or Simmons would not dominated in the nbl. Imo Ball has more up side than our Ben.

#879 get a life the nbl is no cup cake league.

tell you how bad the league is.
An 18 year old come to this league and get triple doubles almost at will.

His only triple double btw and look how bad the NBA is now even NBL scrub imports like Terrance Ferguson, Devon Hall and Brian Bowen a guy who couldn't even start for Sydney are all now in the NBA.

NBL has a style where good passers will do well, it's not as stifling and lock down as Europe, but it still has a semblance of defence unlike NBA.

NBL has less length than NBA or Europe which is something La Melo has, and given his composure and intelligence, he was always more likely to do decently in the NBL than other types/style players.

That doesn't mean the NBL is bad, it means the NBL has a style pretty perfect for a young future NBA star. Someone like Ferguson, despite being a highly drafted player (albeit not #1) struggled more because he didn't have an elite pass on him yet, nor an elite shot to rely on, he had athleticism but that isn't conducive to the NBL if you're physically not strong enough to cope with the physicality of older players who can bump you off and prevent you getting anywhere. When you're young defence is tough, so suddenly you've got a player who can't contribute much (with consistency) defensively or offensively, you're less likely to achieve time in crucial minutes.

Good passers do well in the NBA too, as long as the team isn't an ISO style team. I'd expect La Melo to do well in particular NBA teams.

Buzz on twitter is that the Hawks have booked a press conference where it is expected Saville will announce his retirement effective immediately.

Hawks have lost 3 starters in 2 weeks to knee injuries if this is the case.

Plus side for 36ers is surely this means a W Friday night.

Helluva a way for a vet to go out of the game sadly.
