For a low budget team Cairns have some excitement about them
I recall Kelly basically was hired when most free agents had already signed elsewhere. This is really his true first season with sufficient preparation.
Bench is crap.
Kelly didn't do so well last year, maybe he is like Ange postecoglou and will win the title in his second season.
I can't believe he won the J-League.

A pity Cairns can’t retain some imports though. Fair enough if they go overseas, but surely the NBL could help them out a bit to keep Machado.

I'm more curious to see where the Machado & Oliver end up next year. Oliver is young so Europe is probable, but Machado is a vet so I think he'll end up elsewhere in the NBL.

Here’s a thought: Kelly, at least, a decen coach at this level.
Last season he was restricted by having to d late recruiting, and was really trawling through the scraps left over by other teams.
This s Aston he had more time on his side to recruit who he wanted (within budget constraints) and has assembled an exciting team that holds interest and can beat anyone at times.
Cairnsians can now buy a game ticket and think they’re in with a decent chance of seeing their local team win.

Yeah this young Cairns team have been brilliant fun to watch and the people of Cairns deserve a team worth watching after Fearne tried hard to bore everyone

Dangerous team Cairns. Starting five as good as any. Machado and Newbill great dup. Oliver can take over any game. Deng Djeric have real impact. Kenny has to hit the odd outside shot to contribute. The big guy gas been able to play but not be relied on.

Kelly done really well, Kenny, Djeric are down hill skiers though. Deng, Noi, Jawai plus the imports are the key.

I did notice that they went offline yesterday afternoon and were put back online this afternoon. There was one extra person added to the girls list?
