How does the world view the nbl
Paying players more doesn’t mean better performances or better players.
Would you rather play in a relatively safe English speaking country with great climate or make more money and live in a volatile environment with communication issues for a bit more money?

probably on tv or internet

The more intelligent American knows the difference between Australia and New Zealand.

I've listen to a couple of podcasts involving NBA scouts who thought the league was great while in OZ watching LaMelo and RJ. They found the game presentation and atmosphere similar to NBA games.

Only Perth players knocking back that Euro cash. It's the love of the game you see. Euro fans would really enjoy a Wagstaff display. They invented it after all.

The lesser euro sides the money has already got less so the top nbl players are earning good money for the shorter seasons. Money making Mitch didn’t leave Europe for less money, United tuned up with coin.

"Economics. That is what our league has currently decided is economically viable to pay."
Is it feasible that the league could eventually reach the point where salaries are similar to Asia or Europe

Do we need a J Newman next year to keep up the momentum of ball and RJ ?, at least Americans have discovered the nbl this year. I guess we just need more money to attract better players ?.

Most people in the world don’t even know Australia exists, basketball people will have some idea but overall we are no where as important as we think we are.
On the other side of the coin LK at least is giving us some respect.

"I'm Asian.
May I ask you something unrelated to the text?
I think the level of NBL is very high.
But I found that the salary cap was lower than the players' competitive edge.
What is the reason?
Is it because basketball is unpopular in Australia?"
LOL. That's some olympic-level trolling right there.

Economics. That is what our league has currently decided is economically viable to pay.
The existence of imports and locals in most leagues in world basketball means there isn't a direct correlation between salaries and talent. If Aussies could play as locals all around the globe then the NBL would lose a number of players because it couldn't compete with the money on offer.
As it is, most Aussies are competing with Americans for import spots overseas, and where many Australian players bring excellent qualities as team players and role players, that is not what most teams are looking for in their imports.

But I found that the salary cap was lower than the players' competitive edge. What does that even mean?

Men - Vics towelling up the opposition in Pool 1, which was to be expected. Pool 2 looking like a fight between SA & NSW going on results so far.
Anyone at the championship see any favourite from these 2??
In the women Vics look to be too strong again probably playing NSW
There have been some pretty handy individual performances by the look of the box scores.
It's a pity that SBS or one of the ABC channels couldn't be coaxed into showing some of the games or even highlights.
