Country Cup
Worst SA teams I have seen in a long time.

I was surprised both tas teams made the u14 final, maybe a sign of things to come?

So the Vic's win all but one age group which was won by Tasmania.
NSW win nothing.
Maybe one silver medal and the rest bronze or nothing.
People will say,but it s a development tour.
It maybe but NSW results need to get better as you do not do any tour to lose.
From here Country State team/squads will be finalised and then the Nationals to see how they go.
What do BNSW do to improve their programs to beat the Vic's and now Qld who are really stepping up.
Not cheap probably.
Plus the week before that BNSW have Metro and Country do a joint program in Newcastle.
Metro have ECC also the week leading up to Albury.
Then there is the Southern Cross tournament in Melbourne for odd age group for both Country and Metro which concludes this weekend.
How much do parents pay for their child, themselves and family to go to these events to support the child playing.
They will always do what they have to for their child but there is only so much sometimes you have to spend.

The competition this year was dismal! RIP CC

In terms of best organised and best run event Country Cup is the best. Great place and good courts with enough accommodation for double the amount of teams.
In terms of development, well just about everything is "development" if you are dribbling a ball etc so yes its good development. Is the standard of competition better than the SCC, ECC and probably even the Eltham/Dandenong Tournament, NO DEFINITELY NOT. The stanard has dropped of significantly in the past decade.
Cost is also a factor with Country Cup being close to double the price of the above mentioned tournaments.

Country cup was the forerunner for SCC. And ECC, it’s been a far superior model and still is

STINGING criticism from the Perth Wildcats failed to deter Melbourne Tigers coach Chris Anstey, and a meeting with NBL officials this week confirmed his side got a raw deal from referees.
Anstey and point guard Jonny Flynn were upset by the refereeing against Perth last week with Flynn lucky to escape sanction after saying it was hard to win when "it's five against eight".
Anstey set up a meeting with referees boss Peter Carey to address his concerns and on Monday was told the Tigers had been on the end of some bad calls.
"They agreed with me that there were some bad calls, and we all make mistakes and move on," Anstey said.
"If they had said it was all right then I would have to change what I'm doing, and how I'm coaching.
"They were open with their opinions, some calls were right, some weren't."

I bet Shawn Dennis' face must be red right now.
