Basketball Victoria suspends all programs/events/leagues

BWA Grading comps this weekend cancelled.

https://basketballwa.asn.au/blog/2020/03/13/basketball-update-13-march-2020/

SBL and domestic continuing (for now). However Willetton Tigers association have cancelled their domestic for this weekend.

"As of 2.30pm today March 13, 2020 Willetton Basketball has made the informed decision to close the stadium doors to all games, trainings and events for this weekend. The stadium will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday. Tonight’s Friday games will go ahead as the traffic through the stadium is considerably less."

I expect both will provide further/updated advice next week.

Basketball SA:

UPDATE | At a press conference held at 2:30pm on Friday March 13, 2020, the Federal Government have asked all organisations to suspend all gatherings of 500 people or more, and therefore Basketball South Australia have suspended all senior and district basketball games to be played tonight (13/03/20) and tomorrow morning (14/03/20) and until further notice.

Due to the high level of uncertainty around COVID-19 and it's impact, Basketball South Australia will continue to work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of our members and their families.

Anyone else notice the lack of media attention that NBL has received during the playoffs so far? I'm talking about national news programs like ABC24, Sunrise, Today, SBS news etc...

Even sports websites have ignored the playoffs, such as the roar. Not a single article there.

I don't think they've mentioned the NBL playoffs once(not that I've been glued to it every minute, but I have seen a lot of A-league news in the meantime). Not even a running scoreline at the bottom of the screen.

There should be no excuses to not give some coverage this season - The all important big market Sydney Kings are in the playoffs, and 19,000 people attended the 2 opening games of the semi-finals on Thursday night. So what will it take to get a mention?

At least the local coverage has been good.
