The only ways to manage the spread are social distancing or a vaccine.

Until the latter arrives, we're stuck with the former. And this can't last that long.

While it may never literally hit zero, the only way out is to get it low enough that we can trace and test everyone who has ever had contact with someone who tests positive. And that's going to take a massive shutdown to achieve.

There is not a single country in the world that has managed to get on top of this without a total lockdown. Because it can't be done.

I just totally disagree. The aim of the game is not to eradicate.
Its to accept that people will get it and to ensure there is a manageable spread.

Cases at zero? There is no chance that happens. The Government isn't going to destroy the economy and have millions and millions become unemployed to ensure nobody gets this virus. Put simply, every single measure we are taking at the moment is to slow the spread so the health care system does not collapse. In implementing these measures, there is an assumed and acceptable level of spread, as with any virus.

Why run over summer when you could wait a month or two and run normally?

That's assuming a best case scenario, too. I would be unsurprised if things are still closed in a year's time. We need a total lockdown for a couple of months and extensive testing to make sure cases are at zero, then to rely on the border closures to keep new cases from coming in. That's the only way this ends.

During Morrison's press conference the other night to announce the shutdowns, he said we should expect them to remain in place for at least six months. So best case scenario, September. No Big V.

In reality, if we're going to continue down this track it's likely to take more like two years.

Seriously hope the BigV don't follow suit and cancel the season. Just play with no imports if you have to.

I think they might use the Act of god clause. Just like nrl, pAyments will be reduced.


Well first “god “ has to be proven to actually exist to “inact” that clause.......if infact it can be proven, then who are his/her representatives, because they owe the entire world a buck load of money
