NBL "incapable" of making decisions: Smith
So Kings decline a best-of-three scenario BEFORE Game 2.
Later they decide the best-of-five they WANTED TO CONTINUE WITH be called off, with no winner declared, after Game 3.
Classic.

Even before then, they refused to reduce to best of 3 when they were down 0-1 with a game to play in Perth. This was because it would force game 2 into a must win. Loeliger said this on nbl overtime
So much for the myth about not wanting to play due to the virus.

"The telling points for me are what happened after game 3, and the Kings response that moving game 4 forward wasn't enough recovery time for them (obviously Bogut struggled in game 3)."

Who could forget Drew Barry and Steve Woodberry's overpaid overhyped Kings careers? Everyone! Randoph Childress. Acie Earl. Kings were renowned for overspending and underperforming back then. Everyone knows that.
Evidently some do not so this will serve as a good reminder.

Why is Smith such a classless act?
The league proposed at least 3 options to finish the series safely, they even proposed to have Games 4 and 5 IN SYDNEY and Perth even agreed.
Each option was rejected by the Kings. So on one hand the league and Perth have to accept Sydney decisions, but the Kings cannot accept league decisions.
For Smith to originally say he showed no disappointment at the result then these days of complaining is really showing no class at the Kings front office.

At least when we buy them the transaction goes through successfully.
Whereas Kings under AEG/Paul Smith and other previous high spending regimes such as Wrublewski and Macquarie couldn't organise a root in a brothel!

If I ran the NBL, its we made the decision, Perth are champions, get over it!
By the way Smith and Bogut here is a 100k fine each, the team is not allowed to play again and will forfiet every game until these are both paid in full
Theres a decision for you!

Wow......Sydney Sooks are really upset aren’t they? Two years in a row they tried to buy a premiership and still haven’t succeeded! Maybe spend ten million on a team next season and put it all beyond doubt.

Can they Sydney kings owners, players especially bogut, shut the hell up, act with some class, and stop being such sore losers
All this is, is waaa i didnt get my own way and cant face the facts that Perth were the better team and deserved the championship

"Perth, win at all costs."
10 times :-D

If this guy isn't careful Sydney might be restricted to just the 3 imports next season....

I'm trying to establish a rough timeline here. Feel free to correct/add this if I have anything wrong.
- MARCH 8: Game 1 is played with no indication that the series might be interrupted.
- After MARCH 8: After game 1, Kings offered 3 game series. Wildcats agree, Kings refuse.
- MARCH 13: Kings insist upon no fans for game 2, a Wildcats home game. NBL, Wildcats agree.
- MARCH 13: Prior to game 2, NBL suggests series will be cancelled if any player tests positive for the virus.
- MARCH 13: Game 2 played, series proceeds as planned.
- MARCH 15: Game 3 is played.
- MARCH 15?: After game 3, NBL offers games 4 and 5 to play sooner. Wildcats agree, Kings refuse. Chartered flights suggested: Wildcats agree, Kings refuse.
- MARCH 17: Kings decide to withdraw from playing the remaining games.
- ???DATE??? Kings allegedly offered no result agreement if series was cancelled. [when did this occur? Did this include either team withdrawing, or just an NBL/govt decision? Any more details?]
From the outside, it looks like one team has been willing to make sacrifices to complete the series. Then you have another team who is only willing to agree if they are not disadvantaged in any way.

What we seem to have here is a Sydney Kings team that is freaking out because they failed to capitalise on a huge spending season, and a record-breaking regular season.
They were perfectly positioned to win it all, but achieved of mix of under-performance and capitulation in the post-season.
Rather than admit their own failure, they are throwing blame outwards.

I thought there was a handshake deal? How did this happen on a teleconference?

Looking forward to tomorrow's whinge. How long can they keep it up for and will it be Smith and Bogut alternating days? Everyone else has been quiet.

"There were no NBL executives in Perth. We were functioning in a void. This is a teleconference. There wasn't even policy on the run, it wasn’t even decision-making on the run; it was just 'do something’ on the run. That’s what it became.”
Wtf is he on about?

If you wanta dossier how not to react when players frustrate you during games, watch this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbaYqcMMZ6A
Rutgers fired basketball coach Mike Rice on Wednesday after a videotape aired showing him shoving, grabbing and throwing balls at players and using gay slurs during practice.
Definitely shocking viewing and I truly hope that no players are subjected to this.
