Olgun Uluc released by Fox Sports

^^^^
70%- I’d say more like 95%. It’s the way it is, not right but olgun only following orders.

Lol at people having a go at Olgun for leaking stuff with an agenda. What do you think all journalists do?

70% of the journalists in this country colour their stories with whatever editorial line Murdoch wants them to take which is usually whatever is in his commercial or ideological interest.

In that light is he really that bad?

Bring back bonz or boogie.

Not going to argue with the NBA aspect, but I think there's value in having media covering a league rather than just relying on what the league itself puts out, or more casual blogs. Not sure I'd want to be paying their salary, but there's value regardless.

Wouldn't the NBA equivalent of the latter say that salaried sources like ESPN/Woj are unnecessary and we could rely on NBA.com and r/NBA?

Not critical to the NBL's success though and not a specific sign of the NBL being abandoned by Fox.

Hilarious most of these comments on here are obviously from other NBL podcasts trying to pump their own tires up. Olgun wasn't perfect nobody is but he delivered the facts and was spot on with his rumors. Boti used to be the guy that would give you that, now he isn't posting as much content losing Olgun will be pretty big.

Years ago
It was from 1983, and I have no idea why it was in black and white because I've seen that footage in colour on other history pieces.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Exactly my thoughts at the time but I thought I had missed something watching from half way through.

Stay away from Beston & Greenway? FOH

I guess it really depends on what you value. The production values of Beston & Greenway are way higher than any other show. And really they are not so far from whoever you want to be the best...honestly who in mainstream media sport is head and shoulders above Karl Beston? Trig? Matty Johns? Some AFL bloke? Yeah, the guy loses his top and can go on but he has a lot of intelligent points and completely owns who he is. Guess a lot of people hate him for the same reason they hate Bogut.

Brad and Boti is corny AF, short and half WNBL. Cool if that's your thing. I much prefer Brad as a courtside reporter.

Rucker is a good personality but stopped for a long time. He always got the best out of his guests. Production values also average.

Pocket Pod has great guests and quality has improved but the host is pretty smug.

Aussie Hoopla are a treasure. The OGs. Their Leroy Loggins interview was brilliant.

Beston and Greenway are far from the best

NBL Pocket Pod
Brad and Boti
Derek Rucker just started doing stuff

There's some decent content out there. Stay away from Beston and Greenway!

I liked Olgun, he bought something different to other NBL journalists and was carving out his own lane.

Aussie Hoopla guys do some great work too. Both are very different in how they go about it. Good that we have choice.

No need to put one down over the other. No one is getting rich from this. Happy we have options.

I want whatever the Aussie Hoopla guy is taking.

I saw that too. I assumed it was from their inagaural season in 82.

Launch a website Boti Nagy style?

At least channel 10 Perth ran a decent segment about who were the top 5 Wildcats players of all time are.

I only caught part of this starting from when they finished showing some black and white footage (???) of Mike Ellis. From what year was that?

Olgun's job is to cover the NBA. His NBL stuff is a bonus. With no NBA there's no need for Olgun.

He'll be back in one way shape or form when basketball returns.

And Channel 9 is showing similar desperation to keep up their quota of footy-related stories.

7 News has doubled up as an AFL magazine show for many years. The fact there are no games on right now has just emphasized the lack of stories so they have to come up with endless puff pieces and hypotheticals.

At least channel 10 Perth ran a decent segment about who were the top 5 Wildcats players of all time are.

Anyway, im sure Fox Sports will employ a new basketball reporter when the NBA and NBL resume. Would be good if they stood down a few AFL reporters too though...

Fox released motorsport, AFL and rugby-covering employees as well. Doesn't seem to have been basketball-specific.

Since she has come on board I have seen no improvements to BA or the NBL whatsoever.

All I hear is crap about how high the participation numbers are, which means nothing, because clearly, a majority of these people aren't watching NBL on TV or attending games.

I'm sick of her. Please let's put someone in charge that takes action, not just talks all the time.
