BIG V / WARATAH LEAGUE / WA SBL 2020
"Zero cases two days in a row. If this holds there's a good chance of an SBL season in some form I would say." Stop guessing KobeDick.

Massive lost opportunity for Big V.

Is this a lost opportunity for the state leagues which could have gained local viewership online for games before the restart of the NBA season kind of like NZ NBL is doing

Interesting to see NZ NBL able to restart their season so quickly

Disagree, most Big V players want to play

Big V is surely monitoring what is happening with other sporting leagues.
In the news today some senior footy leagues in Melbourne are resuming on July 25th should everything continue on its current path. If footy leagues are resuming then there is no reason why Big V shouldn't.
Yes footy is outside but a minimum of 36 guys on the ground at the same time tackling each other has to be a bigger risk than 10 guys on a basketball court playing a non-contact sport.

I'd be interested in knowing further details too

Does anyone know with certainty if BIG V is going ahead? Source?

Big V will go ahead. Not sure on the format

With Waratah League cancelled (Youth League & Championship)
Is the Big V and WA SBL next in line to cancel ?

Most leagues will be reducing teams to 9 or 10 players per game. 1 coach and a team manager. No spectators.

Waratah league will start back May 30

The discussion is around if restrictions are lifted but Big V takes a season off

I hear there is discussion among some clubs in Melbourne regarding running their own league if Big V doesn’t get going.

Lucky my club can play CBL over summer.. Go BVC

When you don't have interstate, much less international, travel and crowds are measured in the dozens it's a lot easier to get back up and running.

Lawl KobeRulz has gone from complete lockdown no basketball for two years to now saying 'awyeah i rekun maybe basketball soon bois'

Big V is likely cancelled. Official announcement May 11

No nbl1 sides in Victoria have Senior Big V sides, only Youth League. So no..
Or will Youth League be stacked????

"It is most certain there will not be any WA SBL played this year"
Wrong. They are pushing hard to have a condensed season later in the year.

It is most certain there will not be any WA SBL played this year.
And yes, highly likely the SBL will be NBL1 West next year. It was always on the cards anyway.

Will teams be allowed to make changes to their initial squads if the season commences at a later date this year

great to see ref shop on line on BSA website.
dont know how long it has been there -
but they should have trousers and belts.
maybe get a deal going with yakka or something - get some ref sponsorship from trouser shop.
belts
maybe even official shorts - that way all refs can get their gear through BSA ref shop.
