Would a shift to winter result in more people home and better tv ratings even against the behemoth of AFL?No.
Why do people still ask this question?

Reading the article there are numerous things I get from it. Great that various people are coming together to try and resolve problems going into the future. But it highlights how much the sport relies upon crowds for revenue. Basic supply and demand, tv revenue props up the major sports namely the football codes and cricket. Is the time of year a factor, already competing with big bash, does going out and socialising in summer months a factor in tv viewing? Just putting it out there.

Who cares if it's world's second best league if noone watches it. Pity NBL couldn't work with NBA and they have it as a farm system, increase imports to 4 or 5, stash a couple draft picks, add some "next stars". Instead of having Kevin White, Teys, Coenraad and other scrubbers on the floor, bring in the yanks! Of course there'll be an upcry about local talent, how many overseas players did the king's have, how many fans get excited when someone naturalises? Send the scrubbers to where they should be, NBL1.
If league wants to survive it can't rely on Larry pumping in money all the time or running to government. Every year Hawks or Cairns or someone has a financial collapse. NBA spends how much on g league? Running an NBL team is chump change.

Not Hurls from the infamous half-court shot...
"Our aim was to have it (signing a new coach) done by the end of the month.
"Two weeks is the end of the month."
Parker said the club had not yet arranged an interview panel for Marty Clarke's successor but had enlisted the aid of former Boomers and NBL championship coach Adrian Hurley to short-list the applicants.Full story from Boti
Free agency open-season starts two weeks from the championship being decided. We have about a week and a bit to go.
As Boti says, if the 36ers can keep Gibson and Creek, free agency is not as crucial. If not, then it's a bigger deal.
