Will NBL21 be going head to head against footy?
Not looking forward to the season atm, not just cotton leaving it's the unknown part I'm not looking forward to.
I was surprised cotton even lasted this long in the nbl but with all this COVID-19 crap it's a flip of a coin scenario for the nbl and supporters.

The football coverage never stops anyway. With a late finish looking likely, the NBL should look into a very late season start - maybe November and have a shorter season just to get through this one and avoid clashing games at the very least.
Come back bigger and better the following year. Theres been too many distractions and hurdles to overcome to make this coming season any good.

By season end and football finals start a lot supporters teams are out and continue to drop out and don’t care to much for other sides.

lot of kids play footy / basketball now - rather than footy / cricket from 50 years ago. So it will be interesting

footy is a question mark - think there will be a slight drop off from the footy traditionalists in attending the footy if an unusual season presents - basketball should not go head to head against AFL - needs smart programming so you do not have an AFL home game in the city that the NBL game is being played - or in Melbourne's case not the same time slot.

I've noticed Tim Hardaway's son has made himself eligible for the NBA draft. He is projected to go late first round or early second and I think provided the father of a player that drops to the second round then can go to a team their father played with for X years, won an award with, was an all-star, champion etc it'd be pretty cool and add interest to the 2nd round.
Also 2nd round players who were either born near, went to high school near or played college near an NBA team could be picked up and this would create some semblance of regional players being from the area they represent and bring new fans to the game.
What Thinketh Y'all?
